the only way for spiderman to top the dark knight is if they cut the crap
There's those times when we come to a forum to discuss things we have in common, things we like. we can have fine and intelligent debates. and there are those times when we find someone so annoying that we would like shoot him in the head. they put words on our mouth and say things to make themselves feel better. the think their opinion is fact and what others has to say will always come in second place.I did, it was a bunch of whining about my opinion simply because it differs from yours, same as this one.
And from reading this thread, apparently alot of people share my opinion that no SM will rival TDK's quality till they go in a different direction. And, no, that doesn't mean TDK with a guy in a Spider suit. Just more mature (that doesn't have to mean 'dark', either) and with a better script, cast, directing....ya know, all that crap that's kinda important to making a truly great film.
With that said, when did I ever say they were the same? When did anybody say they were the same? A 6 year old knows Batman and Spider-Man are like night and day. Literally
That view about time of release is ridiculous, SM2 would still be SM2 regardless of when it was released. TDK and IM would still be TDK and IM, and still be better films. Time of release means nothing.
Up until TDK I still believed Superman: The Movie was the best comic film. And that was released 30 years ago...when a film was made means zilch.
I really don't understand why you're humping my leg over this, plenty of folks have said the same thing I have in this very thread and you choose to jump on me? Whatever...you love Spider-Kid. Fair enough. I like Spider-MAN and won't be truly happy till we get a movie about him and his world.
I haven't seen anybody bashing the character, saying it sucks or whatnot. I certainly didn't do that. I love Spider-Man, as I've said at least twice in this thread already. I, and quite a few others, simply want to see him treated with more respect. Same thing my Bat-bretheren wanted after the last series (although you guys are much better off, least your movies aren't terrible).
I might just be getting the wrong idea from your postings but you seem to be getting all offended for no reason. Chill...
I think Bat-Geeks have *********ed over themselves enough, and now that they're white as snowmen, will a Mods with a brain in their head finally close this thread.![]()
absolutely he did. the villian starts out with a loving wife (not the same as the comic but hey) and his lifes work is about to be completed, he makes mechanical arms to aid in his research, the experiement goes horribly wrong, fusing his arms and giving him brain damage at the same time, the experiement also took his wife.Humm, so Sam did a good job in setting up the villain in SM2....... keep telling yourself that. :facepalm
i honestly think tdk was too over hyped by ledgers death anyways.

despite this the doctor still had the drive to finish the experiement, completely plausible seeing as it was his lifes work, so everything he does in the movie is driven by his desire to finish the experiemt. he robs the bank for money, steals mj because of his deal with harry (although you could argue why didn't he just beat the information out of harry) at the end of the movie he finds salvation by putting an end to his lifes work.
a little flawed but a well develooped three dimentional villian, where you saw his drive and motivation without you having to fill in the blanks.

Simply put but perfectly stated.
Whatever. There has been no conversation between us. Just me stating my opinion and you bashing and *****ing about it and not offering anything worthwhile. There's those times when we come to a forum to discuss things we have in common, things we like. we can have fine and intelligent debates. and there are those times when we find someone so annoying that we would like shoot him in the head. they put words on our mouth and say things to make themselves feel better. the think their opinion is fact and what others has to say will always come in second place.
Daredevil_2003, you're one of those guys, who we just can't have a good conversation because they're too engulfed in their ego. to say that opinions differ is not whine. I don't know what school you studied or what kind of parents did you have, but they taught you in the worst manner.
please, next time you make me lose my time the way you did, just die.
if you have something to contribute to the conversation, then do. if not, please, just don't troll. peace.
I never thought about this at this angle. you bring a good point.Spider-Man was being irresponsible by giving up being being Spider-Man so he could live his dream of a normal life. Octavius was being irresponsible by doing evil things in order to make his dream succeed.
By the end of the movie they both came full circle and accepted responsibility. Loved it.

The hype was thru the roof for TDK long before Ledger passed away. Especially when the first trailer hit in December. Not to mention all the viral marketing the movie got.
Umm....que?this.
You see this guys? Read it.
quite true. it wasn't responsible for the movie's big success, but it certainly gave the movie a little boost. no doubt about it.Ledger's death certainly helped to make the movie into the awareness phenomenon that it became.
I think it helped with the hype/anticipation/fanboy *********ion. People have a morbid curiosity when it comes to celebrities. Ledger's death only made the movie bigger than it was going to be by default.
people around me saw the tragedy on the news, and they told me that they were curious to see how great was this actor.
Did Jack Nicholson die before Batman came out?
Seriously, it had to have put some more asses in seats but comeon, this is Batman we're talking about here. Fighting The Joker. This was going to be a humongous blockbuster whether Heath was 6-ft under or alive and well doing the press junkets.
Everyone I knew (and they're not geeks like us) was well aware of this film and extremely hyped for it from the minute they saw that Joker card at the end of Begins...hell, that scene got a standing ovation at the midnight screening I was at.
LightningFlash said:And that is stupid.
Did they not watch any of his earlier films?
I wouldn't call that stupid... come on.
