Could also be Netflix is ending their contract for competing market reasons.
Except for the fact that Netflix was ALREADY competing with a vast superhero television market including Gotham, CW TV universe, The Gifted, and more. Disney streaming would have added slightly more competition- but Netflix was already facing a lot of it.
So while it may partly be due to competition, it would be competition overall rather than Disney streaming.
A stronger case could be made that live action superhero shows overall aren’t bringing in the ratings they used to, thus they’re being cancelled or tightened all over the place and with various companies. Point in case, Gotham’s short season rather than outright cancellation. Gotham was, basically, cancelled in the same year as Luke Cage and Iron Fist so the shift isn’t only happening at Netflix.
