Infinity War Captain America|Steve Rogers - Chris Evans

Saw it last month. His character is such a dick! But he was great. (The whole cast was)

Ever since I saw Scott Pilgrim, I wondered why Evan doesn't take more jerk-like roles. I thought he was pretty good at it!

I loved him in Scott Pilgrim... Loved the whole film tbh.
His roles I've seen him in have varied a lot (Snowpiercer, MCU Cap, Johnny Storm, Scott Pilgrim) and he's been good to great in all of them.
Very underrated actor imo.

He is surprisingly good at those given how earnest his Cap is. :woot:

It's the eyebrows. ;P

Snowpiercer ruined me for about two weeks. I'm totally Team Polar Bear after that.

Yeah, at most Steve Rogers gets sassy. Even when he's angry about something. Ha.

Have you seen Sunshine? He was great in that too. One of my favorite sci-fi films.

He was also one of the only good things about that stupid Losers movie.

Agreed if only for....

(he does have a lot of hilarious moments in that movie)

I think... outside of marvel... my favorite roles of his are kind of a tie between Snowpiercer and Gifted (absolutely LOVED Gifted)

Sunshine is a great movie. I actually didn't realize he was in that. *mentally schedules a re-watch in the near future*

I unironically love the Losers. (In my fanfic loving head I pretend Jensen is actually related to Steve Rogers. Hey, there were a LOT of girls on that USO tour and he is only human after all...)

Silvermoon, I too love Gifted! Save Fred!!! I know typecasting is bad, but if Octavia Spencer could be in every movie of his just to yell at him when he's being a moron I'd be a very happy happy girl.

"Treat him with dignity". This kind of thing, right here, the ability to recognize an enemy as a human being, is what I love about Steve Rogers (and why I can't stomach the idea of anyone else picking up the mantle in the MCU, there's just no comparison to the original).

He's a good lad

Hahahaha yes, that scene was great! Shame the rest of the movie was crap. I've grown to HATE Jason Patric after sitting through that mess.

Yeah, definitely give Sunshine a rewatch; he's great in it.

That was the first movie I saw Mark Strong in, though I had no idea what he looked like for a long time since he typically has skin in other roles, lol.

I wonder if ol' Stevey-boy's going to throw any random goons out of a plane or spaceship in this one? :woot:

I need another Wilhelm Scream moment.

Doubt it, he's going up against aliens this time. Be kinda weird for an Outrider to let out a Wilhelm Scream :funny:

Okay, he can throw an alien out of some ship into space and we get an alien equivalent "yeeaaAAHHHaiiiii!" then. :oldrazz:

Man I love that "Steve likes to kill people by throwing them out of aircraft" reoccuring thing, so random. Heh.

He also plays Robert Pronge, 'Mr. Softee', the real-life serial killer who worked out of an ice cream truck in 'The Iceman'. And he manages to be the best thing about that movie. Which is pretty impressive, considering Michael Shannon plays the main character.

Evans is so good as Cap that it's easy to forget how impressive his range is.

Haha...I saw the play this week too. He looked like he LOVED playing such a jerk. He was great at it too. :funny:

And agreed, that cast was terrific.

Hopefully IW & A4 will be a triumphant moment for Evans’ career being the lead in one of the biggest ever blockbusters.

I don't think it'll have such a big effect. He def isn't getting the roles that Gyllenhaal, Gosling, Garfield, Hardy are getting. He's not even getting parts going to Pratt or Hemsworth or Tatum.

But it appears he's going fully into directing though.

I didn’t mean that. I was saying I hope it will be a triumphant moment for his career as in when people look back on his careeer it will be a highlight and like a summary of his time as MCU Cap.

Which is a shame, he is much better than these 3 combined. Wish he did more stuff like Snowpiercer, Pratt, Tatum or Hemsworth wouldn't carry this movie like he carried it in a million years

I agree. He's shown that he has range, but sadly doesn't get the opportunity.

My mistake. Yeah I def think his legacy as Cap has solidified that he's a terrific actor under the right direction/material. Winter Soldier and CW def convinced me that he could act. Prior to that, he was always a comedic type actor in my eyes.

Judging what I've read about Evans, and his reluctance to even take the role of Cap, he's not one of those guys who jumps at every part. He seems like a guy who's comfortable limiting his exposure and only taking what truly interests him. Pratt, by contrast, is making a lot of money right now but he's also overexposed and as a result his appeal is wearing a little thin.

Evans is handsome, successful, talented and by all accounts well-liked. I think he'll be OK :cwink:

He certainly has the range. I’m hoping these 2 films will be my favourites of his.
