Captain Britain and MI-13

I just realised how almost the whole team is packing swords or blade weapons. Yanks love their guns and Brits love their stabby stuff no wonder knife crimes huge this side the atlantic :oldrazz:

Better watch who packs the luggage, lol. So many safety hazards. :p

Haha so true..... Anyway brand new Red Dwarfs on Dave in 45 minutes, i cant wait.

Technically, since he was 'created and raised' in Great Britain, why not have Fantomex join the team/cast?

To be fair, Dane Whitman/Black Knight is American. Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Blade occasionally uses guns, although yes he is named for his weapon preference.

But, basically true.

Magic swords > guns.

They're usually more dramatic for me.

Eh, no. Never cared for Pantomex. The only X-People I wouldn't mind seeing join the team/cast would be Colossus and/or Psylocke (I changed my mind on that regard). Considering the book will be lucky to survive cancel -- I mean "going on hiatus" after this arc, though, that may be unlikely. The next issue or so should guest a slew of British heroes, though.

Union Jack technically appeared last issue and considering Dracula keeps assuming that his feelings for Spitfire will effect his ability to team with Blade, something may come up there. It is curious that Cornell decided not to include Baroness Blood as well. She was the one who turned Kenneth into Baron Blood in the first place, and wasn't staked (she also battled Union Jack, naturally). Lilith and Capt. Fate are fine, though, even if neither have an obvious connection to Dracula than Baroness Blood would. Although that is likely the point.

The next issue or so is due to have a guest stint with Motormouth and Killpower; they've been in limbo since forever. I'm sure Union Jack will get a moment of action. They may be setting up Spitfire to have to kill her own son for her country, though. Or for Blade to do it, since Captain Britain may be the one to tackle Dracula, since he is the title hero.

LOL, he's pretty cool, but since he really doesn't care much about who he kills, that could pose problems for a government team. :p

I would like to see Lila Cheney pop up seeming as she British and I could see wisdom hitting on her but I doubt that will happen.

Not to mention Captain Britain, who's sworn off killing and is showing more and more concern for all life.

While comic sales didn't look pretty in Feb. 2009 (when even a book that sold 32k could sell within the Top 50, a feat that was unheard of even three months ago), CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI-13 #10 actually saw a sales INCREASE from Jan. 2009. It sold over 20.5k in Feb. 2009. Issue #9 in Jan. 2009 sold 18k. If there was no variant cover, perhaps word of mouth is helping.

Sales for March 2009, and sadly the sales increase for CB&MI-13 in Feb. proved to be a fluke. March's issue #11 sold below the Top 100 at #108 with 17,700 copies sold. That is lower than in 1/2009 and the only reason for the blip was some retailers claiming that Diamond seemed to send them "extra" copies of the title in Feb. There is no way Marvel will stand to see this book not be canc-- uh, "put on hiatus" with numbers like this, considering both IMMORTAL IRON FIST and GHOST RIDER are hitting hiatus and both outsell CB by about 4,000 readers.

Enjoy this book while it lasts, folks. :csad: About the best we can hope for after the summer is a relaunch somewhere down the line.

I am surprised there wasn't more interest with all the vampire stuff going on. I think this arc has been wonderful myself. :)

Yeah, I am really enjoying it. The best of the book yet.

My only disappointment with this book was them killing off John the Skrull in the beginning like that. I thought he was cool. :p

There's always the rest of the Skrull Beatles, I guess. None of them are John Lennon, though.

I thought they all got killed off, no?

I don't remember. I think they all survived the Wisdom miniseries, and I remember John dieing during Secret Invasion.

Yeah, I thought at the beginning of MI 13 John was crying that the other Skrull Beatles had been killed first and he was the last. I could be wrong, it was a while ago.. :p
