Captain Marvel Captain Marvel General Discussion and Speculation - Part 9

Question for comic book readers. Is Carol's thing in the comics all about protecting weak and defenseless civilizations? I'm just trying to guess where tptb could take carol next. Making captain Marvel's franchise centre on Carol helping weaker species will be exciting and unique with the potential to expand the universe.
I wouldn't say that's a thing she is famous for in the comics, but her helping a colony of alien refugees fight the oppressors who want to evict them from their new planet is pretty much the plot of the Higher, Further, Faster, More arc... AKA the arc that I really want the next movie to be based on (especially if it's another prequel).

Yea, I agree. That is the first though I had... Why is it so dark when they already have dark uniforms? Made it hard for me to enjoy the fights. The battle scenes in the dark were a tad too dark imo and I had a hard time making sense of some sequences in the ship with her in the green suit. I thought maybe they did that purposely to hide some of the choreography because tbh some of her fight scenes and sparing with Jude was very bland and did not come across as believable. Not sure if I'm the only one who felt that.

I didn’t notice that at all. I thought the lighting was all pretty good.

Again, its only in the beginning where they are in the shadows for the most part and it bothered me. I'm sure I'm not the only who noticed how dark it was in some of those fight scenes early on.
My only other gripe I would say is how most of the humor fell very flat. I smiled at a joke and then chuckled at another. I do like this movie, just some things about it make me not like it as much as I would love to.

Thanks.

I may be the last CBM fan that aside from something like say, Spidey or Deadpool, could care less if a super hero story has a joke in it or not.

Saw it in IMAX today with a friend, partly due to avoid the crowds and because I had the day off.

Very happily surprised at the final product. Not a bad or weak actor, Brie was awesome (per usual), the story went at a good pace and the action was easy to follow. And I dug the message it sends.

I’m looking forward to seeing it again. Maybe a third time too.

That's so sweet , and cool at that same time. As a teen in the 90s, I never imagined there would be a day when Superhero cinema and tv would be so popular with the general audience, let alone that WW and CM would have their own movies.

Its a truly awesome time to be a sweaty:word:, taking a phrase from the immortal Jon Schnepp.

how famous is Captain Marvel in the comics? Like is she B/C list? anyone think the film and Endgame can do enough to drastically UP her fanbase or draw more attention to her comic?
