US actress Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, is in a critical condition after suffering a heart attack during a flight, reports say.

It's been reported that she stopped breathing for 10 minutes. The reports are murky right now but there is a difference between a heart attack and cardiac arrest, which can have no signs of breathing. Often the victims can die within minutes.

I'm just saying that she didn't die on the plane as they were hauling her off to the hospital, and now she's on a ventilator. I'm saying that's a good sign, but I wanna say it is. But anything can happen though. I'm no doctor.

Guys the big problem here isn't the heart. I'm not a doctor either but from a good friend who suffered a similar incident. When you suffer cardiac arrest the big problem is how much oxygen the brain receives until breathing resumes and the heart resumes.

My deepest prayers are that she'll pull through this, but there's a chance even if she pulled through, from the time involved she could have significant brain damage. The first sign will be how soon she can get off the ventilator and resume breathing on her own.

Not trying to be a downer here guys, I just wanted to present how serious this might be. We all hope for the best for her!

Like I say I didn't mean to be a downer, but when you hear cardiac arrest people only think of the heart, it's not just the heart, it's your whole pulmonary system shutting down, and people can often survive but end up comatose, because of massive brain damage. Your brain cannot stay without oxygen for very long.
