Cartoon Network to become "Network"

or learn Japanese...anime is also filled with a lot of weird **** that doesnt translate well to American audiences

This is horrible. Who in the hell thought this was a good idea?

Sadly, everyone who claims they won't support this..."Network"...will probably be the main ones watching. Like how the Anti-OMD guys are secretly buying the comics.

because not everyone wants to read subtitles ALL THE TIME

I don't mind that they dub it, but some of the voice actors just don't sound right. On one hand you have a show like full metal alchemist, where the voices are decent to greatly casted, On the other hand you have Naruto Some voices are good, but I really don't like whoever does the English voice of Naruto.

Good, it seems this idea they had died on delivery.

Guess I have to change my sig soon.

You're a fool. G1 was typical 1980's camp. The only reason people still obsess over it is nostalgia. Beast Wars was better in every way imagineable.

And the Beast Wars characters weren't *****es. They didn't waste their time with humans like the dumb Autobots and Decepticons. True, there were a couple episode with primitive humans. But that was 2-3 episodes max. One was dumb but it never approached the stupidity of G1. Plus one of those was Dinobot's death which was the best episode of the series and better than Optimus Prime's death.

Go ahead, burn me at the stake. I don't care.

No need to start the fire.
I grew up with G1 in 1984 and as much as I loved that show as a kid, i'm gonna have to say BW is infinitely better than G1 was. G1 TF is a glorified commercial for toys; BW is a program that had solid storytelling, complex characters and tight storylines in addition to doing its job of selling toys. It acknowledged the continuity of G1 and expanded on the storyline; something that craptastic 1987 movie couldn't get right.

Yeah, I said it. I truly hate Transformers:The movie. Hated it since I saw it when I was 13 years old in 1987. Totally ruined Transformers for me; killed off all the cool characters and replaced them with chumps I could care less about. Rodimus Prime is THE SOFTEST character in the TF universe. Bumblebee has more juevos than he does; I always wondered if he wore pink panties in his alt mode.

Optimus Primal would own him and TF animated Optimus would serve him on a platter.

That does get quite annoying. I do like shows like Full Metal Alchemist and Ghost in the SHell. Very little if any excessice cuteness and the like

Also, the animation in those shows was actually good, espeically in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Most anime is rather cheaply animated, and it shows. That's not saying recent American cartoons have been a whole lot better, though.

The days of high quality, prime-time worthy animation like Justice League and Samurai Jack seems to be but a fading memory. GI Joe Resolute's animation was probably some of the best TV animation I've seen in years, but unfortunately it was only a limited mini series. I really wish Cartoon Network would consider contracting that studio to do a full series sometime, even if it's not GI Joe, but unfortunately they're more interested in having crappy reality shows.

Well ,actually this is before both of our times but I usually call the Fleischer Era as the golden age of cartoons. What did that guy touch that didn't turn into gold?

The 90s had a classic surge for cartoons but so did the 70s and 80s. I'm a huge Filmation fan: Ghostbusters, Zorro, Star Trek TAS, etc...

The 1988 Ruby Spears Superman too.

I'm glad I invested in alot of those animated goodies on DVD.

Fu##ing sucks!!!!! :csad:

GHOSTBUSTERS? FILMATIONS GHOSTBUSTERS? The show with the APE? That show sucked. The Real Ghostbusters was a good cartoon.

Well I meant The Real Ghostbusters. I never saw a cartoon one with an ape.

The one I'm referring to wasn't Fimation I think...

I liked the other Ghostbusters. More than the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, in fact. Tracy was a pretty cool gorilla.

And their process for putting them on and getting to the car was f***ing badass. :)

Cool. I think I'll check it out because I have honestly never heard of that particular incarnation. TRG seemed to be on tv all of the time.

Besides, Filmation had some really quality detail in many of their designs for an American production company. :word:

Yeah, I don't much care for Tim & Eric but the Mighty Boosh is pretty sweet.

I thought it might pleasantly surprise me like Wolverine and the X-Men, but no. Tony Stark as a kid is exactly as dumb as it sounds. I didn't even make it all the way through the first episode for fear that my eyes would roll out of my head.

The sad thing is that it's not even the first time something like this has happened. Remember li'l Benjy Grimm and his Thing Ring? :o

for me, the jury is still out on Wolverine and the X-Men because its just shoehoring Logan in there as the leader and that does NOT compute for me....
