The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

i'm all for Emily Blunt playing Selina.

I would have to agree my friend. :wow:

Well then tell me what makes him so uncool, because I don't see it.
He is an intellectual match for Batman (you probably didn't know that if you didn't read the comics) and he is superior to Batman physically. Hands down Batman's most formidable foe (physically) and he has one of the most unique, intricate and original origin and character development of all of Batman rouges.

The only "uncool" thing about him is his look, which obviously wouldn't translate to film if they follow the same Ra's/Scarecrow/Joker formula.

While I like Catwoman, The Riddler and many over villains over Bane, after seeing TDK for the fourth time I can say he would make a better on screen villain in Nolans world than Catwoman, Riddler, Mr Freeze, Clayface, Manbat, ect...

He fits in with the gritty "realism" vision, not the goth/noir fantasy vision of Batman, and characters like Catwoman are better reserved for the next director when this series is ready to return to the goth/noir tone. But for now, I say stick with villains that make sense (in Nolans world), such as Bane, The Ventriloquist, Black Mask, The Joker & Harley Quinn, Ra's Al Ghul, Two Face and The Scarecrow, and The Penguin.
Characters such as The Riddler, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, ect... can be taken seriousley but would deviate from the tone of the first two films, therefore should be saved for the 4th intallment and later on, during "The Robin" years...

Bane's look is incredibly easy to translate. Just move it away from wrestling imagery and towards paramilitary imagery. Black combat clothing and a balaclava would be fine.

I agree with the both of you. Bane would be very easy to translate to film. Easier than most other Bat-villains actually. Give him black combat boots, black military style pants, a black "wife-beater" and a black ski-mask or executioner-type mask with a dash of white painted on in the design of Bane's mask from the comics. He'd be intelligent as well as a physical threat, and hellbent on Batman's downfall, so he can claim the city as his own. He experiments with a enhanced steroid (venom) that increases his strength (let Nolan and co. decide just how much). An exact retelling of Knightfall may be a little much, so how about Bane and his men set free the Joker and Scarecrow (who partner up only for a short time before the partnership crumbles), as well as a few yet-to-be-seen villains, in his plan to wear Batman out and strike when the time is right. Of course, there would be no back-breaking, just some intense butt-kicking for Bats. In the pattern of Nolan's films so far, this could be just one of the subplots going on in the film.

Casey Affleck as The Riddler and Emily Blunt as Selina Kyle/Catwoman for the next movie.

You can just call me...Joker! and as you can see, I'm a lot happier now

If Christopher and Jonathan Nolan want to reunite the cast of MEMENTO:

Guy Pearce - The Riddler
Carrie Ann Moss - Catwoman
Joe Pantaliano - The Penguin

From the Nolan directed film INSOMNIA:

Robin Willaims - Mad Hatter
Al Pacino - Black Mask
Hilary Swank - Batwoman/Katherine Kane

From Nolan's THE PRESTIGE:

Hugh Jackman - Deadshot
Scarlett Johansson - Harley Quinn
David Bowie - Hugo Strange

This might seem a little "outside the box", but what about Ben Foster (if they were to re-cast The Joker)? I've always thought he's really good at playing creepy characters and could do a good job.

eliza has a sexy rough voice. And Faruza would do fine as HQ, especially if she act the way she did in The Craft.

Emily Blunt looks amazing in that photo...But she can't cover up her English accent...Unless you want an English Catwoman...

I think with a little work she could be.

But i think she'd be a better talia.

I'd like to see talia in a movie anyway.

blunt as talia? even with the white ras, i dont see it.

Hmmmm...Guy Pearce as The Riddler. I never would've thought of that one.

Joaquin Phoenix as Bane. They are both kinda stocky built, and Phoenix is even Hispanic.

either him or Jack Black

Hah! I would never have heard of dear little Joaquin!

for Mad Hatter, I was thinking, Giovanni Ribisi, Robert Carlyle or maybe even Steve Zahn?
I kinda like the idea of, Paul Giamatti (but, I prefer him as Penguin, but, could see him as either) Hatter is probably more of a possibility for this series
