The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

What the ****?!

Where the hell do you get Jean Claude ''I cant act for ****'' Van Damme from Mickey Rourke?

Did you guys see JCVD? He's matured a lot as an actor much like Rourke. We shouldn't hold films like Street Fighter and Wild Orchid against them when the last films they did were The Wrestler and JCVD. Maybe not Black Mask but I can definitely see Van Damme as Deadshot.

Huh?! What the...what do you...huh?!

To compare someone who may be up for an Oscar to someone who acts as well as an Oscar trophy does is blasphemous.

Just stop while you're ahead.

You guys need to broaden your horizons. You have all these rules about who should be cast and you think they'll save you.

You're not funny.

Mickey has always been a pretty good actor before The Wrestler. Van Damme has been titled 'The worst actor of all time'.

Just check out JCVD. While I'm at it I'm gonna throw Wings Hauser in the ring as a villain in B3. I'm watching an episode of the A Team right now and he's playing a highly unstable loan shark to great effect.

Why the hell would we want to watch anything with JCVD when we already know he cant act his way out of this:

ok, a lil off topic, but howcome everybody thinks it's a good idea to quote the joker every time they have a point to get across? I mean, that can't lead to good things. like, imagine if your girlfreind tells you she's pregnant w/ ur best friends baby, and all you say back is "why so serious?". that wouldn't end well. and that's only 1 example of why acting to much like the joker isn't good.......

...um, jude law for riddler!

Having trouble? You look like a man who takes himself too seriously. You want my opinion? You need to lighten up.

is your girl pregnant from your best friend?
nope. that was just some random example.

ah, switching things up I see?
I see you took my advice about theatricality....literaly!

I guess the only thing left for me to do is find some 2 face quote to use and the circle will b complete!!!

hmmmm? I can't think of anything he said that would work here? NOOOOOO!!!! :2face:wait, I did it!!!! I quoted 2face (& look skywalker simultaneously by using the most common line in movie history)!!!

I was thinking that since The Dark Knight featured Eric Roberts and Michael Jai White, the next film could bring back another actor that was "popular" around the same time frame as those two and starred in many movies around the same caliber as Eric Roberts... That man is Tom Berenger.

Any character in mind?

see, to me, it could be just some throw-away character like Michael Jai White in TDK. I just think it would be pretty awesome.

Michael Clarke Duncan= No, because he doesnt look like Roman Sionis
Ed Norton= No Because hes already The Hulk
Josh Brolin= Its cool. i dont mind the casting at all
Vincent Cassel= I personally have another choice but this guy is good
Nathan Jones= Yes
Rhona Mitra= IDK. HAvent seen enough of her movies.
Everyone has a problem with my wanted Michael Clarke Duncan as the Black Mask and people think I want him- cause you know--the obvious, he's a big black man.

-But this man has insane presence. He is a large enough man to offer a substantial threat to the Batman, physically. And physically- he resembles the Black Mask from the comics BEFORE the mask was burnt onto is face when he "died". I am not a fan of the "skull" mask interpretation- it works in the comics- but on film wouldn't look right. A simple black mask would be fine. And do I even have to mention the man's voice? His voice, size, and presence would make him a believable crime lord.

And as for looks- you don't have to ever see him WITHOUT the mask...he could also be an absolute. If you want to go with the Roman Sionis/Janus Cosmetics/buisness rival route- than cast Leonardo DiCaprio, but I think- physically, you lose something.

-Rhona Mitra is a relative unknown. Her movies, that I've seen, suck. But she did a very good run on Nip/Tuck a few years back, during the "Carver" storyline. She's very sexy, not a bad actress, good presence and keeps your eye. She is coming out in the new Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, this next month, so people will know of her- and she can do action.

-Edward Norton...so what if he is Bruce Banner? That is a different universe, it's not like he was John Corben! Also, it doesn't even look certain that he will be playing the good doctor again, because if Hulk is in the Avengers it may strictly be Hulk, without Bruce. If there is a Incredible Hulk 2, which I know the producer wants- then we STILL don't know if Edward will be back, because of disputes with the studio over creative control.

Bottom line, Norton is one of our generations finest actors, he's not a HUGE name, but he has credibility. He could play the part, he would be very believable. If not him, I wouldn't mind Burton's choice, Robin Williams, if you want to go with an older, creepier Riddler. If you want real young, narcissistic Riddler, how about Michael Rossenbaum? He was the best part of Smallville and can be menacing. He also looks like a dead ringer of the Batman: The Animated Series Riddler.

-Nathan Jones. The man is one of the few that can convincingly pull off the size of Bane without prosthetics like Vinnie Jones wore in X3: The Last Stand. With the mask, you can easily have someone dub his voice, Antonio Bandaris, maybe? Javier Bardem?

-Josh Brolin just LOOKS like Slade Wilson, and is a hell of an actor.

-Vincent Cassel is just a choice that I've had in my head for the part for a while.

-R

The irony with Michael Clarke Duncan is that given his size he never comes across as intimidating or threatening. He does comedy very well and even when he tries to be threatening he looks cartoonish doing it. He's a caricature of the big intimidating guy that you don't take him seriously.

An actress that played a supporting role in a semi-popular tv-show, a wrestler, and people dubbing the movie?
