Someone over on cbr suggested Ben Kingsley for Hugo Strange, which I thought was perfect, but now after seeing Watchmen I'm thinking Jackie Earle Haley would be even better.

Anyway here's my personal choice of actors to play both villains and heros for further Nolan sequels.

VILLAINS

Oswald Cobblepot/ The Penguin - Toby Jones (W and Frost/Nixon)

Selina Kyle/Catwoman - Angelina Jolie (an obvious choice I know, but I think she would be perfect as almost any of the various comic incarnations of this character)

Edward Nygma/ The Riddler - Casey Affleck (this choice has been cited elsewhere, and I must admit I can't think of anyone else who'd be better)

Dr. Harleen Quinzel/ Harley Quinn - Scarlett Johansson (I think she has the right combination of slinkiness and calculating intelligence, although Anna Faris would also be good)

Roman Sionis/ Black Mask - Brad Pitt (he wouldn't want the role, but ideally I'd love to see him rough up his image by playing this twisted rich boy version of Bruce Wayne)

Talia Ras A Ghul - Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace)

Dr. Victor Fries/ Mr Freeze - Stellan Skarsgard (Pirates of the Caribbean)

Bane - Mickey Roarke (I'd prefer a Latino actor in the role to Roarke, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to read them. Most importantly though, the part should be played by a decent actor, like Roarke and not just somebody from WWE)

Rupert Thorne - Colm Meaney (The Damned United)

HEROES

Detective Sarah Essen - Annie Wersching (24: Series 7)

Detective Harvey Bullock - Daniel Baldwin

Barbara Gordon/ Batgirl - Kate Mara (Brokeback Mountain)

Finally, I'd love to see Jon Hamm off 'Mad Men' play an alternate version of Bruce Wayne/Batman if Bale ever decides to quits the role. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Bale in the role and was one of the many fans hoping he'd be cast prior to the announcement of Batman Begins; but if for whatever reason WB decides to start a new franchise, I'd love to see an actor like Hamm cast who closely resembles the look and personality of the B:TAS version of Bruce Wayne.

Javier Bardem would play Bane pre and post-venom, while cgi and mo-cap would be used for Bane. Not many actors his size can give a performance deserving of a Nolan film, and Bardem is an amzing actor. His voice and accent is similar to how I always imagined Bane sounding.

Black Mask and Roman Sionis are the same guy. I am a little confused by that statement. If you mean that Bruce and Roman are the same age, I think Brolin and Bale are close enough in age to where it could work. They are close friends in real life, so that chemistry is there.

Like Bayboy I've never been a huge Rose McGowen fan and would never have visualised her as Poison Ivy, but your picture is starting to win me round at least as far as the potential physical resemblance goes.

I like Blunt as an actress but see her more as a heroine 'girl next-door type'. Although she has played a semi-femme fatale role before in 'My Summer of Love' I don't know whether she has the exotic knock-out look, or the sinuous demeanour I associate with Catwoman. Of the more left-field choices, I prefer Marion Cotillard for the role.

I think you're right Johnny. That might be the only way to do the role, otherwise you end up with some lame wrestler playing Bane. Plus, Bardem is one of the best and most high-profile Latin actors currently around.

I think most audience members could accept Brolin and Bale as being around the same age. It's not as if Brolin looks substantially older than Bale.
