IO9: Bryan singer tweeted a picture of the set where he's filming your scenes at Quicksilver, and it's set up to film at 3600 frames per second. Holy cow. What it like shooting in that?

Evan: Bright. It was incredibly bright. A lot of the crew and Bryan, himself, got to wear sunglasses. And the actors had to keep their eyes open for a long, long time, with that bright light just blaring at you. It's like the sun. It's brighter than the sun. It's right there in your eyes. But the end result is so worth it. You just power through it.

IO9: Does it hurt?

Evan: It does kind of hurt. I don't know how safe that is? Keeping your eyes open for more than 20 seconds in that light. But yeah it does hurt. It's really difficult to keep your eyes open.

IO9: I only saw a part of the set in Singer's photo — how big is the actual set? What does the footage look like when it's all done?

Evan: It's quite a big room. It's super, super, super, super slomo. You can see raindrops frozen in the air. Stuff like that. It's amazing how that camera works.

IO9: How does that change the way you deliver your lines or throw a punch?

Evan: You don't do anything differently other than try to keep your eyes open in the bright light. And try to make it look cool, I guess.

IO9: Will your character actually have silver hair?

Evan: Yes. Yeah. Yeah, it's cool.

IO9: Do you think everybody else just seems slow and boring to Quicksilver?

Evan: Yes! I read one of the comics where he says that it's like waiting at an ATM, when the people in front of you don't know how to use it. That's how his whole life is, everybody is so slow to him. And he has the ability to go so fast, he's just waiting for everybody to catch up. It's pretty cool, that character trait.

IO9: What was it like working with Ian McKellen as your father, Magneto?

Evan: No, I worked with Michael Fassbender. And he's awesome. He's amazing to work with. I worked with him and Hugh [Jackman] and James [McAvoy]. And… I won't say any more. I worked with all of them. They are awesome. Seriously, the nicest people in the world, couldn't have been more welcoming.

IO9: What was your favorite piece of 70s clothing that you got to wear?

Evan: The jeans. And the jacket — I had a pretty sweet jacket.

Notice he didn't say magneto isn't his father in film.He just didn't work with Ian Mckellen.

Even Peters sharing screen with Michael Fassbender,Hugh Jackman,and James Mcavoy
should be something to see.As will how bryan singer does quicksilver's speed.

Fassbender's Magneto did hint that Quicksilver is his son at comic con, so I am happy that they will explore this in DOFP. The dynamic will be interesting.

He was just probably teasing people that they are related because he said Quicksilver has good genes. But he didn't confirm anything.

For me it's confirmnig, otherwise Fassbender wouldn't open his mouth when Peters spoke.

Personally I don't think we should read too much into Fassbender's "He's got good genes" comment. He could just be referencing their comic book relationship. I think sometimes we fans tend to read into things too closely because we're not on the same wavelength as the general audience.

i suppose its a case of why would reference the comic if there is nothing to suggest they are father and son in the movie

Moderator asks about how the Quicksilver in this story even though he’s also in Avengers 2. Singer says Quicksilver was always a part of the story, and while he can’t speak to The Avengers…he asks Peters to describe the character. “He’s very fast,” says Peters. He talks quick and he’s impatient because everyone is slower than he is. “He’s got excellent genes” Fassbender chimes in.

its not really a case of reading to closely into it, it probably 80% likely they are related and 20% likely fassbender just randomly butted in to reference the comicbook relationship

overall there isn't anything to suggest they ain't related, nor has it been denied

Yeah I've considered that too. And it's certainly a valid point. But on the other hand, Fassbender talked about Magda in interviews in the lead up to the release of FC, and we never saw any reference to her or to Magneto having had a wife in that film.

So for me, the comment just isn't that persuasive. It COULD be a hint, I'm not saying disregard it completely. But it could have just been Fassbender having a little fun with his knowledge of the character at comic con too.

I am interested in how Singer portrays his powers on screen, in-general it's fun that we are getting two versions of this character (one in DOFP and other in Avengers 2) comparing them with Flash (in his TV series) should be good too.
