Cavill's Hair In Official Teaser Picture

Wow. Not gonna lie, personally I think this is pretty silly. His hair looks absolutely fine to me. I can understand a few people being upset over the curl, but I can take it or leave it. Other than that, I think his hair is probably the best looking hair on a superman we have gotten yet. It looks natural, not like he ran down an alley, ripped his clothes off... And then stopped to make sure he had it perfectly styled. I'm tired of the slicked back super clean cut look. Honestly, the only other time I haven't laughed on the inside at superman's hair was probably the last season or so of smallville. This look is very Jim lee, not as "tight" as it has been done before. As long as there is a difference between this and his hair when he's just Clark, I'll be fine.

You've made the assumption that everyone who isn't happy with the hair wants the super clean cut look.

I still think his hair will have the curl when he's being clark. Like it was when he was at comic con.

Nowhere in there did I say that. I said "I'M" tired of the slicked back super clean cut look, which is far and away how his hair is done the majority of times in any medium, and that "I" liked the way it is in the picture. I simply said it was silly that people are arguing over it. With all the action and fighting he'll most likely get into during the film, his hair will probably be a mess anyway, haha.

You'll see it when he's Superman (trust me) -- just not all the time, as it should be. As for Clark's look, only time will tell.

Well I can't wait to see more. I have so much more hope for this movie. Everything is looking perfect. For me anyway.

How do you know by the way. Henry? zack is that you?

I think he should shave his head. Not totally bald like Luthor, but a buzzcut. Cavill looked badass with a buzzcut on The Tudors... if he could pull off looking hardcore with puffy sleeves and a lace collar, imagine how he would look in that Superman costume. Yeah, he would look straight out of the Marines. And there's nothing more American that the USMC.

SEMPER FI SUPERMAN!

Well, I think it would be incredibly ironic if the only curly haired actor in history to portray Superman didn't rock the famous spitcurl on film. You know what I mean? It would be kind of funny.

My hope is that we'll see it occasionally, but it shouldn't be PLANTED there all the time.

As much of a fan as I am of the way Clark and Superman's hair looks in the comics, I think going the "Lois and Clark" route is the best choice for realism's sake. Think about it: what would be easier, combing and parting your hair (and adjusting that spit-curl) which was just combed back or going from the parted hair to the combed back hair? Even at super-speed, it makes more sense to start out with the Superman hair style and go to the Kent hair style.

I wonder if the hair will look more reasonable from a different angle. It just looks so damn poofy on the sides lol

Also I think this is what the hair will look like mostly in the movie and if this is the case then I'm down :)

Can't believe there's a thread for Cavill's hair :woot:

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING! LOL!!! :woot: His hair looks fine the way it is.....personally the curl never looked natural. Looked like part of his costume....

I think the Cavill Afro will make him taller, and boost him up to Superman height :P

So you haven't seen Watchmen.

Yeah, unfortunately, I paid to see it too :csad:

Snyder translated panel to screen with utmost scrutiny and attention to detail while COMPLETELY missing out on the themes and subtle undertones that ultimately make Watchmen what it is.

Visually, he did well (as anyone would agree), but in his literal-minded quest to translate the pages to the screen, he proved that he has no understanding whatsoever of what Watchmen is really about.

I don't agree.
The fact is, no film-maker in Snyder's position could've summed up the intricacies of each piece of social/political commentary made in that book along with all of the deconstruction of the superhero, the depth of the relationships and back-story of each character, the in-story teasers and every other detail Moore crafted for Watchmen.
The only way I could imagine it could be achieved in it's entirety would be with a mini-series of 90minute films for television perhaps.
And even then, things like the boy at the newspaper stand reading the comics would be very difficult to implement into the film without screwing with overall cohesion.

While I think another film-maker could've adapted the story better (and captured dramatic elements in a richer fasion), I think Snyder did a decent enough job.
Successfully adapting the book into a 2-3 hour film is next to impossible though.

ANYWAY lol,
His treatment of Watchmen isn't something I'm going to have in mind a whole lot when I think of Man of Steel.
Nolan's team and Snyder's team working on the script will hopefully produce decent results, and we can bet it'll look like a hell of film.

EDIT: The hair thread just got deep lol

Now THAT looks better than the hairstyle on the first official pic. I hope his hair looks that way for the film. As of this time I hate the Zukoman look. . . :oldrazz:

yeah, hope they will 'modify' his hair. lol and the suit color too.

overall, superman looks big and ready to kick some ass!

that's badass!

I never cared about the Dean Cain hairstyle...could have been A LOT better!!!

I honestly do think they will change the hair. They'd be silly not to, cause it's not just a select few picky people that have mentioned it. I think it's now widely accepted that his hair looks weird in that pick.

Can you not just see it? Snyder asking:

'So hows the reaction to the first image looking?'...

'Well sir, they really like it... accept...'

'Oh let's have it, what is it? Is it the trunks? The texture? The 'S' symbol?'

'No no, nothing like that. It's his hair!'

'Oh thank God! We can change that!'

:D

If they are taking any notice. This hair please:

the hair should look like this...

Very good changes. Especially the hair. This is the BEST hair they can go with for him. Perfectly done Dorky!

I hope part of the reason for this release is that is Synder or WB has anyone monitoring the internet, they take small suggestions.

This hair makes a big difference, looks much more like Superman.

Bonjour.. Its the lighting he has eyebrows. How the fisk could he not have them.

Clark you and superman don't have eye brows.. I'm missing something here...hey you're superman.
