CBM First Time ?

I guess you could say Batman 1989, Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin all in the mid 90s. But my first actual theater experience with a comic book movie, and one that truly impacted my love of the genre was Spider-Man in 2002. I was 9 years old at the time and that theater experience changed everything.

I think my first CBM is the second half of Superman '78, when it aired on TV somewhere around 1990. I was 5-6 Y.O. at that time. I distinctly remember the scene where he asks the crowd to step away a bit and drills a hole in the ground.

But it was Burton who got me into the genre. Batman '89 and Batman Returns double feature on a bootleg VHS in mid 90s.

The Incredible Hulk TV pilot.

The original Superman films were a huge part of my childhood. Then came Batman '89. My first theater experience was the original TMNT film.

Truthfully, back then, It wasn't much of a genre. :funny:

My love of comics had nothing to do with films. Especially Marvel. It wasn't until the 21st century, that this became a genre, like we know it today.

Probably Superman: The Movie, although I guess it could have been Superman II. And I liked all of those as a kid along with Batman '66, but Batman '89 (which was the first I saw in the theater) was on another level.

My first CBM's were Superman 2(1981) and Popeye (1980) which I saw when I was probably around 4 or 5.

My first theater CBM was actually Supergirl in 1984, but the first real noteworthy CBM event theater film was B89.

Same!

I was 9 as well and that film changed everything for me too. I still remember the goosebumps i had when he Columbia logo appeared and Elfman's score started playing.
