Chapter 22 - "Landslide" - Discussion Thread 5/14/07

Ugh..Nathan's speech followed by Sylar on the roof was brilliant.

Out of curiosity, anyone else agree that the world is sick?

Issac probabley painted it. We know Linderman has been following the Heroes for some time.

but he and the others only manifested powers a less than a year ago.

also Simone is not Candace. Unless you want to ignore the fact that they were in the same room together(one being dead).

:cmad:
They killed off one of my favourites, damn it! I loved Ted.

:(

Wish he could've put up more of a fight, but I guess the whole flipping, and hanging upside down disorientated him. I'm gonna really miss Ted though.

I haven't been this amped for a season finale, ever. Everything seems perfect. I didn't understand why DL didn't phase before he was about to get shot. He did it when Jessica went for him before...

I just hope Ando does survive. Somehow. He's another fave.

Why not:

DL saw Linderman pull a gun. Because DL is not a comic book character, his first impulse was not the best use of his power, but simple, like any of us would have: I must protect my wife. And he stepped in front of the bullet. If Linderman had hesitated for just a moment, DL would have had time to do something beyond pure instinct, such as use his power, however, Linderman, being a smart bastard, did no such thing.

So let's can the "He should've just phased both of them, that's what I would've done" garbage. If I give you the power of telekinesis and throw a ball at you, your hand is going to raise, even though it doesn't need to, just based on instinct.

I've just realised something

I have not been this pumped about the finale of a TV show since I was a little kid. Not buffy, nor 24, nor even the mighty twin peaks (watched it on dvd a couple of years ago) managed to get me this excited about the finale to a show

now THAT'S good television

QFMFT

I am in the same boat I cannot recall when I was this hyped about a TV show.
Every Monday after its over I am stunned by the excellent acting writing and camera work and just waiting from 10 pm till 6 days 23 hours later for the next episode. :)

"Didn't I throw you out a window?"

God, I was rolling with the way she delivered that line.
Best line of the whole series. the delivery was perfect. Larter is one of the better (if not the best) actors on the show.

I was watching Genesis last monday and realized how well was the music of that episode handled, I wish they had gotten more on that vein, but since it was the pilot, it was still work in progress

but one thing is for sure, once you see episode 22 and then you go back and see episode 1, you realize how much the show has grown in story, scope and quality in just one season

Hiro in Times Square is as good a scene as Sylar flipping the truck as Bennet's desperate attempts to save his family from Ted/Matt

talk about consistency

hopefully Sci-Fi will do another marathon when the season is over. i've got a couple of episodes i'm missing on my DVR :woot:

Amen! Amen! This was my point from my post earlier. These are just regular people with special abilities, not time tested and trained superheroes.

I still think it would've been funny if in addition to instinctively jumping in front of his wife, DL also phased out of habit. So he jumps in front of her, only to phase and let the bullet hit his wife.

I thought DL would be dead too until... well... he showd up in the previews...

This episode really got me scratching my head.
Exactly why does Sylar want to blow up New York?
Will Hiro and Peter team up to defeat Sylar?
What if Peter still turns out to be the bomb, will Hiro kill Peter?
The Niki/Jessica thing seems to be resolved but what is Niki's ability?

Exactly why does Sylar want to blow up New York?

Because he's seen the future and knows that if he does, it would both help to make the world a safer place and make him president. His entire motivation is his desire to be somebody great and do fantastic things. That certainly qualifies.

when did Sylar see that???

Exactly why does Sylar want to blow up New York?
he's embracing what he thinks is his destiny. he was looking to be saved when he visited his mother and she rejected him. so he figures there's no turning back for him now. he is what he is.

After seeing Peter Petrelli in the new Fergie video I'm rooting for sylar

Claire: Whose fire power is this?
Sylar: It's atomic power, baby.
Claire: Whose atomic power is this?
Sylar: It's Ted's.
Claire: Who's Ted?
Sylar: Ted's dead, baby. Ted's dead.

Was that actually Chris Claremont cameoing as the swordsmith?

Great episode, loved seeing Sylar act more villain like. I felt bad for Ted but this makes it interesting because either of them could be the exploding man. 4 deaths in one episode was pretty shocking. Glad to see Thomson die. I hope HRG kills the girl.

Actually SciFi is running the first 21 episodes Saturday all day :) Get that DVR ready!
