Chapter 23 - "How To Stop An Exploding Man" - Discussion Thread 5/21/07

Dude, he's right though. Actually, Nathan can't even fly. It's just the effects guys having fun. They thought it would look cooler if he flew so they just kinda screwed around. That's all man, dont overthink it!
LMAO :woot:

Ok I am sure the answer is somewhere, but I never got a good answer on why Peter didn't just go out to the desert to explode? All that crap and death because he needed big brother? He might want to confront the bad guys, but what a selfish pick. Just get out of town and explode. Then fight the bad guys. Am I wrong or did they just make an entire season because Peter was curious who the bad people are.

Peter confronted Sylar because he was the only one that stood a chance. And it was the confrontation that led him to exploding, so going to the desert to explode would have done nothing because it was facing off with Sylar that caused the power build up. It wasn't a matter of him just releasing the power and that being the end of it.

Yup. Peter thought it was Sylar who was going to blow up, so he had to stop him.

I have a theory that Peter exploded because he met Sylar and sort of re-absorbed Ted's radiation, as well as the power's of those around him. Then Hiro shows up too, plus the high stress level. Good thing Peter softened Sylar up though. Hiro would've been totally ****ed if he had shown up to take him on his own.

I think Niki's ability's was just one too much (with him fighting Sylar and all)

I thought Silar got stabbed abit too easily, he should have done sumthing, only for Hiro to appear behind him & stab him when he turns around, as well as a longer convo between Hiro & Peter, where Peter asks Hiro to kill him, but Hiro should've said "no, I'll teleport you to the desert" or sumthing like that then Silar sends Hiro flying...

Yeah Peter started getting out of control bcos of Silar, as well as Nicky, the little girl, Mikah, DL... All those powers could've added to the stress of his inability to control unstable abilities...

I wasn't dissapointed with Heroes' season finale, sure it could have been better, but it could have been worse, for what it is, it was great!!

:wow: :wow:

I airred last night over here in the UK and my random thoughts hehe

Great! Ando lived go Hiro! stabbing Sylar made me so happy and also Jessica and Nikki coming as one and Nikki when she knew she had powers was cool, DL living yeah!

But but but WHY DID NO ONE NOTICE SYLAR MOVING!! I mean his the one they wanted all that time and he was stabbed then he got away he died!!!!!! did no one notice his frakking body move????

But you know Peter and Nathan dieing made me sad :( I mean it was sad both of them blowing up together in the sky so sad :(

But what was this thing the girl said (traker girl) ''his worse then the boogie man he knows when I'm looking he looks back'' something like that?

Any thoughts on who??

But the ending Hiro in the past I mean wtf lol

Any news on season 2?

It's been quite a while since I watched the series (which is why I'm glad it's now started on BBC2 here in the UK so I can't remember the whole story behind Hiro's samuari hero but is anyone else thinking that Hiro might turn out to be the guy he idolises so much. I mean, we are messing with time here????

And I have read that we'll see Hiro in that time period for at least a few episodes...

You know thats not a bad idea, I think that could happen nice one

Ok now I got questions.

Who died in the explosion? Was it Peter, or Nathan, both or neither seeing how Peter has the Cheerleaders powers?

Will Nikki's boyfriend survive?

Is Linderman really dead?

Is Hiro about to find out about his family history?

What powers do (or did) the first Gen have?

What did Richard Roundtree mean by "thats how its ALWAYS been"?

Did Syler crawl away or was he dragged into the sewer?

And how is the man the tracker is so scared of and is he the rock monster?

And finally. WHEN DOES THE NEW SEASON START?!?!?!?!?

Oh yeah, that bit was creepy. :( I cannot wait to find out who this is, though.

1. Neither.

2. Not sure. Even if he survived, he hasn't been seen to be part of the main cast pictures and such.

3. He is. Kring envisioned him to be Bond villain-like. We still have Sylar, however.

4. Probably. To what extent and to what depth would only be telling.

5. We don't even know that.

6. What was the question to that?

7. Crawling away is a lot more likely but Kring did say what happened during the final moments of the showdown would unfold in Season Two.

8. Don't think so. Speculation has it that Molly might refer to Kane, David Anders' character. I do know a little bit about him if you wanna know more though.

9. Usually at the same time that all popular tv shows do: in September.

No question number 6 was just wondering if something like this has happen before?

And we cant go by the ep from the future cause people are still alive and NYC didnt blow up.

I was thinking about that yesterday and something sprung to mind... Why on earth did Peter not just fly up out of the way by himself? He does have Nathans power aswell so why didn't he do that... or if possible... is that what really happened? Nathan got out of the way before the explosion?

Guess we'll have to wait to find out

Well I think Ted's powers shut down everything else. But what I want to know is if Nathan just flew Peter up far enough and then left him go or did he stick around for the explosion?

Pete's been absorbing so many powers lately that he's been on the brink of just completely losing control of them all for a while now. And that's exactly what happened in the finale: he lost control of his powers, and they went off randomly. This is why he exploded, because he lost control of Ted's power. This is also why he couldn't fly away, as he lost control of Nathan's power.

Only one thing bothering me to be honest!
Why didn't Nathan just let Claire shoot Peter? Losing one Hero is one thing, but why did Nathan have to sacrifice himself too? Is it that Peter was too far gone to be dropped by the gun?
This has probably been asked before so I apologise in advance!

I think only Nathan dies...Peter had Claire's power, so he should heal from the explosion (like in that future the explosion destroyed the city). So, instead of losing Peter (who was the most powerful), we lose Nathan.

Nathan did the right thing by not having Claire shoot Peter. They will need him later on I think.

I just watched this show (after buying the season 1 DVD)...loved this show. It is fantastic

What do you know about Kane?
