Chapter 22 - "Landslide" - Discussion Thread 5/14/07

Well with all the power linderman had, he slacked of big time of not being prepared for DL and Nikki to show up. In the process, getting pwned in the head...(ouch).

Sylar is such a bad ass, I mean he's like the villian you love to hate.

Back to linderman, I love the *cough* movie magneto - mystique relationship between linderman and candice...although thats about over with...can't wait to see the fight between Candice and Nikki!

So is the next episode going to be 2 hours? If so its going to be so boss...this week is going to be insane for me waiting for this finale...im soo amped!

i don't think there's any maybe about it. she pretty much came out and said so. she's overweight and had been made fun of for her looks/weight.

Agreed. I don't remember what the exact line was, but I remember her saying something about people being cruel to someone that looked different, etc.

I loved this episode. To clear some air after some of the other posts I've read:

- It's a show about Heroes. If it was supposed to be balanced with a larger number of normal people, it would be called Heroes And Regular People. Don't let the fact that a show about Heroes focuses on um, the heroes skew your vision into thinking that everyone in that universe has powers. There are plenty of people in the Heroes Universe that don't have powers - they just aren't the focal point of the show.

- Sylar rocks. He's conniving in the way he should be. He could have created more/different havoc in this show, but he is truly embracing his opportunity to be "special."

- Big ups to HRG/Bennett. That's a man trying to protect his daughter right there. He doesn't care how bad-a$$ Eric Roberts was in Best Of The Best, he'll put two in him to save his Claire Bear! He'll even drop a 7 year old to protect his daughter. Seems pretty right on.

- I'm expecting some explanation of how Hiro and his Dad could train endlessly and have it only last a couple of hours. With the size of the "back room," maybe his Dad has a power for spatial distortion or something.

- Personally, I think Sylar tries to explode and Peter flies off with him. Peter can fly and regenerate, which allows that finale to be the classic "is the villain really dead" ending comics are famous for.

- Just because these people have a power or a gift, doesn't mean they can react well enough to use it in the heat of the moment. DL is the best example of that. Even with everyday things, as good as we may be at certain things, catching a baseball, etc., occurrences happen where we don't react the way we could/should. I think that's how DL caught one here. I'm still praying for a Nikki/Candace fight.

Cannot wait for next Monday

well, he was prepared...for Jessica and DL, but he wasn't prepared for Nikki.

I was kind of dissapointed with Ted's death. I was hoping he'd get to gfo out fighting.

I've just realised something

I have not been this pumped about the finale of a TV show since I was a little kid. Not buffy, nor 24, nor even the mighty twin peaks (watched it on dvd a couple of years ago) managed to get me this excited about the finale to a show

now THAT'S good television

No Dl ment to catch that bullet, cause he could of grabbed Nikki and make them both intanagable. No he knew what he was doing.

Nice turn around :o
Not really...I still think that Heroes isnt as good as it once was. 1 good episode out of all the past 13 episodes it has released isnt enough to change my mind...Im going to have to see a supercool season finale...hopefully it will be

a couple of things about that scene...did Linderman ever refer to Nikki? he clearly as been manipulating Nikki's/Dl's lives, and he obviously knows about and has been using Jessica. that is...does he see Jessica and not Nikki as the one with an ability?

the other thing...DL said that Nikki was the strong one. do you think that should be taken literally, or do you think he was just referring to her inner strength, strength of character, etc.?

Id have to disagree, but yet again ive been a heroes fan ever since first episode.

I like story, there will always be action, yet man im a sucker for a good storyline, which Heroes has. Heck we still don't know what sylar does with all the brains.

Candice has told Micah that she could show him things that would scare the crap out of him if he didn't obey, I'm guessing because of her powers of illusion. Do you think that she might have something to do with the whole Uluru thing?

Linderman kept referring to her as Jessica because she's the bad ass that has been doing his dirty work.

DL was referring to her inner strength.

DL and HRG owned in Landslide. So did Sylar with his truck-flipping telekinisis powers. As one of the posters above said, I wish Ted wouldve given Sylar a fight.

Most likely character. I'm sure DL won't die. Linderman's blood probably has healing properties and DL's smearing it all over his wound.

Surprised they killed off 4 characters in one episode.

Shame one had to be Ted.

Edit: Oh and, I expect a blood transfusion from Claire to heal Nathan's wife. But I made that prediction way back when we first her rolling around the house. I guess I should have seen it coming the moment Linderman healed the plant. Ah well, can't catch everything.

This is why Heroes is the best show on TV right now. Madness like this. WHAT a lead in to a season finale... this episode on it's own takes out most Season Finales you see nowadays.

DL owned. Peter and Claire as partners is soooo cool. Bennett's been handling business. Sylar overhearing stuff was SICK, as well as his rooftop scene. Though, one has to wonder when was his painting is going to come true.

Odd ending:

At the end of the season, Peter will use Molly's Power to find his father, and then dissappear flying over the horizon.

DL should have just phased Nikki and himself  Or Nikki should have stayed Jessica since I think she's bulletproof. None the less, I hope DL doesnt die because I was starting to like he and Nikki as a team.

nope. there's a pretty good Q&A series updated every Monday at comicbookresources.com (i think that's the name of the website), and according to the writers Uluru seems to be a bigger, abstract concept. they've been playing hot and cold with the questioners but there's some info there.

"Didn't I throw you out a window?"

God, I was rolling with the way she delivered that line.

Masi Oka is a terrific actor. He simply switched from Mild-Mannered Hiro to what would become Future Hiro in the middle of the dad fight scene. I got goosebumps over my goosebumps.

As did I. The guy is a walking nuke. You think he could have gone out better than pleading for help. I understand he had to go, but I wanted more there.

I think that it was implied that Hiro went through years of training in that room, yet they should of showed either like his hair growing long, or some sort of facial hair to show that hes been training, even have his father say to stop time so they could train.

I don't know why people kept making this assumption...

Hiro wasn't trying to be a master swordsman. He didn't walk out of that room with years of skill. What he DID learn, was that he had to overcome his fears. And that sometimes you have to end one life, to save many.

Hiro was losing faith in himself. The training session gave him a bit of background in swordsmanship, and a new perspective for his next fight with 'his villain'.
