I know they said "this show isn't dependent on the characters" but there are some that they would be shooting themselves in the foot with if they didn't bring back.

The Petrelli family have become one of the most intriguing parts of the show.Killing off Nathan and Peter would suck bigtime.

I agree, he really was just languishing as a character. There was nothing else going with him that I really wanted to see explored.

It was kinda the same with Ted. He was just an angry guy who fried things when he got mad. He wasn't going anywhere either so I wasn't surprised to see him go.

The character has potential. IMO more so than Ted.

I hope they keep him around he can make a very amusing character.

I fully expect Peter if not Nathan to die... in many ways their story is uncontinuable into next season. Except for the Nathan as president... and as we've seen... It doesn't actually have to BE Nathan for that to work.

I hope to see Claire next season cuz.. man... why not?
