The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm (Spoiler Discussion)

The modder left Fennec's cyborg parts without a cover, because he didn't want to hide the "beautiful" machinery. You live on a desert planet, you ****. I have a hard enough time keeping dust out of my Xbox.
It's a miracle that Boba managed to walk her out to the middle of nowhere without her being filled with sand. Speaking of, she sure was hanging off the side of a bantha for a long way in two directions.

I was surprised Boba thought his armor was still in the sarlacc pit. Does he not remember climbing out while wearing it?

Trandoshans giving me Super Mario Bros vibes, ngl. Wookies love a good arm rip!

The way Fennec said that at the end screamed "look forward to a cameo next episode!"

Or it's some wishful thinking on my part. :o
She might as well have winked at the camera.
I mean, the score playing the opening notes of the Mando theme when she said it was like a double-wink. A blink, if you will.

Enjoyed this one more than last week's.

I cringed a little with the opening shot of the bacta tank tbh. At least we're finally caught up now. The additional Fennec screentime added a lot here. Plus, we got some of the violence people were asking for, more character the development, and Krrsantan is finally on the team. As a whole, I enjoyed it more than previous weeks.

My brother: "I can't believe they broke up the first episode over 4 weeks."
Yeah, that's fair. There was a lot in this episode that I expected would be the in the pilot. It might be better when binged.

I was surprised Boba thought his armor was still in the sarlacc pit.
That also made no sense to me at all. I guess the time that passed in between really did a number on him. Which is another question that this series raises. The flashbacks feel like it covers a few months at best. Not five years, which is how much time has passed by the time he finds Fennec.

I was one of the few who enjoyed last week's episode, but this one was definitely an improvement simply for the Slave 1 (it will always be its name to me).

Glad we got more Krrsantan and he is finally on the team now, and that musical cue before the credits promises some glorious stuff happening in the next few episodes.

He probably remembers nothing of the experience, considering he was so low on oxygen, he stole some off a corpse in the pit and then had to dig himself out. I still don't think it made sense, but I guess he thought best to look as it was the last place he remembers having it.

I am going to assume that after the call for him being "fully healed" and us coming up to the "present" in the flashbacks, we are done with those. Now it's time for the actual plot!

The only part I rolled my eyes was the scene with the rat catcher.

Other than that a very good solid episode.

It's still called the Slave 1. Boba gave the type of ship. Like when people call the Falcon a YT freighter.

Slave I

Good ep. yet like the lackluster phoned in Sarlaac escape, the revenge on the bikers also fell flat (for me).
He should have hovered Slave-1 in front of them, then jetpack dropped out, so they all get a good look who is coming at them, face forward charging at them flying, grappling, torching, and shooting the living hell out of them (leaving one alive to tell the tale)
Yeah shooting in the ship from the back is easy (and cheaper to film), yet it betrays the character (for me) .

Their vision of Fett is while Fennec gets to take on the entire palace guard, Fett essentially derailed into taking on the droid equivalent of ...Robot-Ratso-Rizzo.

And apparently Fett (along with the audience), are all trying to forget that the once badass Boba Fett, was knocked out and robbed by a couple of Jawas.

One scene I'd love to imagine, is Fetts rocket one day fail to launch. So he just pulls it out of his pack by hand, and just drives it into somebodies skull. And flies off as it explodes.

We didn't get it his first fight , but at least we got to see Kroissant

pull one arm out of a socket this time :D

Despite some fan hold outs insisting that Tatooine only has one look) with Garsa's Casino and the Mod culture Mos Espa is established as becoming more commercial affluent than Mos Eisley ever was, they even joked abt it last ep.
So again I'm good with the whole look and tone of the Quadrophenia / cyberpunk Mods and culture, we got another glimpse into this ep.

All said the further hints of recruiting Kroissant and "...credits can buy muscle ...if you know where to look" ending with the Mando's theme playing, was very exciting.

Looking forward to his new "Family" assembled for the finally.

Pikes are now essentially Calvera and his gang, with the framing back story near filled out.
Mag 7 will be Fett (outrageously riding Rancor), Fennec, Loyal Gamoreans, soon to be Kroissant..(which is what everyone wants)

...Mando! And a couple of Mods.
Mando might yet suggest Cob Vanth, as the dusty one horse town sheriff, would love to see him back (to see how he reinvents himself after losing the armor)

Looking forward to it.

I'm just ready for this show to kick into high gear now and be done with all these damn flashbacks and thankfully it looks like that's exactly what we are getting next week on top of Mando appearing which also gets me pretty excited.

This episode was slightly better than last weeks though, but I still didn't like the pacing of it and honestly I can't help but feel like these last two episodes have been nothing but filler that you can easily skip and not miss much.

These last three episodes really need to hit hard IMO and be worth all this slow, plodding build-up and hopefully we get some great stuff starting next week and in the upcoming weeks.

Also, my god does Jennifer Beals look incredible for a woman who's almost 60 just like Ming-Na Wen.

I NEED Bossk next episode

I NEED Bossk to be upset that Boba hired Krassantan before him.

Is it too early to put credits down on the end of episode of 5 introducing Cad Bane

It seems every week they switch off between a shorter episode and a longer episode. This episode was more or less the ideal length I think we should get. It bugs me when we are getting episodes under 40 minutes. This is a premium streaming series.

This was easily my favorite episode of the season so far, and I think the show has gotten better as it goes along.

I like that Boba Fett has gone through this change of sort of casting off his old habits. He's done taking orders and being the hunter. He wants to be the boss now. And he's trying to build his own clan and crime family so to speak.

The mod doctor stuff was amusing to me. It was like Boba Fett walked into a Blade Runner movie or Cyberpunk 2077 for a couple minutes. Not complaining, I thought it was well done. I feel like we've seen a bit of stuff like this between Luke's hand and stuff in the prequels and expanded media. Doing a mild cyberpunk homage in Star Wars makes sense IMO.

I like how Krrsantan's role has gotten gradually bigger. Carey Jones does such a good job with his performance. It reminds me of Kevin Peter Hall as the Predator. I mean you know exactly what the character is thinking and feeling just through his body language and physical performance alone.

Boba Fett still not the sharpest tool in the shed. Drop the SEISMIC CHARGE OR DOUBLE TAP BEFORE YOU stare down the sarlacc's gullet! Yeesh dude. You're lucky there Fennec was there to save you.You almost got swallowed by that monster again.

I like the Godfather dinner scene, but Boba Fett can now flex a little now that he has a rancor. Not sure he can trust the other crime lords, but Boba is at least smart enough to start building his forces.

I will be curious if that's it for the flashbacks to go along with the completion of his bacta tank regiment. Or if he will have any more flashbacks or fevered dreams.

Thanks to Monday being a holiday, I completely forgot that today was Wednesday so I only just finished the new episode.

The highlight was Boba breaking into Jabba's Palace to get Slave Prisoner With Job I.

When they went back to the Sarlacc Pit I thought Boba just wanted to blow it up out of spite but I guess he was too out of it at the time he escaped to realize that the Jawas took his armor.

The whole Slave 1 thing is really just a big non-story. they just aren't saying the name out loud, but it's still the Slave 1. I'm still going to call it the Slave 1. Make of it what you will. Firespray Gunship is the ship class.

I like that we got to see so much of Jabba's palace and got a nice sense of its size and scope.

Also, FYI this episode was directed by Kevin Tancharoen.

My hope is if we do get flashbacks its going to be back to the OT or the Prequels/CW

Like I just feel like Filoni has been wanting to finish the CW duel between Boba and Bane for years now

Same here, although I think they might have just dropped the name on merchandise. 40 years of exposure in Star Wars canon makes it hard for the name "Slave I" to just disappear anyway, even if it hasn't been said on screen (unless it was mentioned in Clone Wars, which besides the final season I haven't watched in years).

Much, MUCH, better stuff this week and a proper length as well.

The Cyborg scene's and members are just something I am going to have to live with and put in the same pile as Ewoks and other Star Wars **** I just dont dig but in this ever expanding universe thats the way these things go, at least there presence was minimal this week. Accept and move on I have.

Morrison gave his best performance yet so far in the show and its nice to finally get some explanation of his motivations and reasoning in the show. The Boba that climbed out of the Sarlacc pit is not the same Boba that went in and I am loving this development of his near death experience, realizing Bounty Hunting is a mugs game and there is a better way for him now, the universe has changed and he needs to change with it. Its slow development but its good stuff and I am loving this aspect of the character. The symbolic scene of him going back to destroy it was excellent done as well as were all the Slave-1 bits, also, "next time, dont touch my buttons".:funny:

The supporting cast were also much better this week, Fennec Shand got lots to do at last and felt relevant to the story for the first time and is going to be more the useful moving forward to the coming Pyke war.

The crew is finally coming together and this weeks Black Krassantan scene was far more character building and just plain scary than last weeks bacta tank skirmish, I'm gad he's on the team now and feels like the Palace is finally getting to get filled out instead of some empty set with a one or two extras knocking about.

Its funny how the flashback scenes have all been the best bits of the show up to now and they are coming to the end but hopefully with full episodes dedicated to the "now" timeline, they are ramped up and handled a little better than the past, the table scene at the end was really well done as well and showed Boba is still a little like his old self and ready to threaten those that are prepared to get in his way now, that Rancor is going to win him many followers.

Good stuff and hopefully the show can go from strength to strength from here on out and finally find its feet this season for setting up a nice season 2 teaser. Its been a rocky road so far but if its more like episodes 2 and 4 and less like 3 I will be more than happy for one. The director seems to make all the difference with these shows.

It was never said in any of the movies. I think they said it a couple times on Clone Wars.

But like, George Lucas added Greedo shooting first because Han Solo killing him in cold blood was too mean spirited or whatever. Han had to do it in self-defense! And then he added McClunkey just rub it in. It's not like Lucas thought this was all so precious he'd never self-censor himself.

Slave-I sniping a speeder biker gang like they’re ****ing womp-rats.

That was my favorite scene.

He decided to shoot a missile at them.

Same.

Question:

If they had shown the Mod Clinic/Shop where Boba got Fennec fixed; would you have been more accepting of the Mighty Cyborg Vespa Rangers?

Also shout out to the guy who got a Kano eye and the other who got a scouter attached their face.

Their coolness is over nine thousand.
