Chapter 4: The Kindness of Strangers Discussion 10/15/2007

Alright its about time Chapter 4 had its own thread and since no one's done it yet, i figure i might as well do my part on these boards that i love so much and make one myself. I know it's a little early but hey, i think we've gotten over the hump since Monday. Also, I'll start writing down a list of things to start discussing about this particular episode, but feel free to add your own stuff too. With that being said

Things to think debate:

• Candice's death(?)
• Monica
• The Adventures of Hiro and Kensei
• West and Claire
• The Isaac Mendez paintings
• How the hell does Sylar end up with Maya and Alejandro?
• Peter's story (open the box dammit!!)

Remember, this is just a starting point

I bet Sylar will think twice before he tries to steal Maya's ability.

Sylar is a psychopath, he's wounded, barely alive in who knows where and a seductive woman offers to help him... what does he do? KILLS HER, cuz he wants POWER more than anything. When he finds out Maya has an ability, he's going to want it bad, no doubt.

What will be hilarious is if Sylar kills Alejandro and Maya ends up needing him instead. Ownage.

But yeah, honestly, I just can't wait to see Monica... she will make me very happy methinks. Until her Grandma gets one of those pictures with the red marks on it. Uh-oh!

Is peter actually in this episode? Just get him back to america and away from those irish characters. He's changed a lot in the season break and its not for the better

i'm pretty sure that the writers know where theyre going with peter's story. i totally did not expect him to become the character he became last season. plus there's still "Four Months Ago", that might answer a lot of the questions we have now.

Looks like another neat episode. Upon watching the second, I worried Heroes wasn't starting off right.
Since I watched the third episode, I had totally changed my mind about that. Things seem to be picking up greatly.

I doubt Sylar will steal Maya's power straight away, because he wouldn't be able to handle the consequences.

She creates illusions, I doubt there would ever be full certainty she was dead. Well, except in that future episode. It was very suggestive that Sylar had her power (maybe someone else's?).

Yeah but everything has likely changed from that future. I mean, Sylar is pretty badass, but come on. It's like "Ooooh I'm Sylar, i don't have any powers but i can single handedly kill a woman who can alter my very perception of reality." If thats the case then i'll be mad.
On the other hand, I know Missy departed relatively suddenly and the writers needed to come up with something fast. I know that they are better than this and I hope that they didn't cop out.

Well they have done some pretty awesome stuff, so i'll try to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

I think i'm putting myself in denial though, as the made sure to show show her real self( or what we think we know is her real self ) as opposed to the incident with Nikki.
