Chapter 6: "The Line" Discussion 10/29/07

I loved last night's episode. It seems the spoilers reported a few days ago are true.

Adam Monroe is Kensei himself.
This proves that he is immortal. I can't wait to see him in the present time and how his story is. I look forward to how he got his own file in the Company. I hope David Anders becomes a regular, Kensei has become one of my favorite characters.

The Kensei & Hiro storyline has finally picked up. I wonder how the time line will be now because of Hiro's actions. It was great to see Cary show up and turning out to be Yaeko's father.

The final twist of last night's episode was a surprise. But I feel like it's season one all over again. Still, it's an interesting way to go and I look forward to how it plays out.

how could you think is was a boring episode?? so much stuff happened:

-hiro and kensais story is actually going somewhere
-peter and caitlin trevels to the future to find new york evacuated
-HRG was a being total badass again (i didnt think he was gonna kill that guy!)
-we saw the other 6 paintings
-monica is understanding her power more

i felt this was the best episode of the season so far

I agree, everything got moved ahead. The most shocking parts were HRG pulling the trigger on his mentor and Maya embracing the dark side under the tutelage of Darth Vader, I mean, Sylar.

Kensei showing his true colors was also very entertaining. I can't wait to see him expand on his A-holeness in the future.

Oh and lastly...Monica is as always delicious. I love her power too. That "Fully Loaded" Ipod rocked! I can't wait to see what she's learned! No doubt its the way of the dragon! "Whoa, I know Kung-Fu." :woot:

I'm diggin' it so far actually. But then again I'm into the whole asian history thing. There's samurais so they already have me hooked. Add ninjas and I'll be fine if Hiro never returns to the present.

Same here.

yes, i do. i think Hiro thinks he's screwed up the past and future, but it'll work out to the same predetermined end.

"The story begins with Takezo wanting to unite Japan. He sought out the dragon of Kiso Mountain and asked the dragon to teach him the secrets of the sword. The dragon did accordingly, and taught the swordsman to become "the Kensei, the Sword Saint". Kensei fought his enemies and won, thus saving his people. But then, the dragon came to Kensei's palace, demanding the life of the princess. Instead, the warrior drew his sword and plunged it into his own heart. Kensei then handed the heart to the dragon and said, "My love is in here. Take it." And then he died." "Some believe that the Dragon brought Kensei back to life."

That's a great example and the Hiro/Kensei fight should be good.

:wow: Freaking awesome episode!!! I'm looking forward to Sylar killing Alejandro. All hell will break loose once Sylar is the only one who can stop Maya's ability.
HRG is more bad ass than ever. I liked how he used the hations ability to get his old mentor to talk.
I swear i would've stopped watching Heroes if Mohinder cured Monica of her ability :o
Why is Niki Mohinder's new partner. I get that her power allows her to be a damn good bodyguard but she's way to soft. Please, please, please bring back Jessica.
10 bucks says Kensei is Adam Monroe.

I agree.
This probably also means that Peter absorbed Adam's power of immortality, since it looks like they had met in the 4 month period that is still in darkness. Which also means he will most likely be immune to the virus if he is infact immortal.

I labeled the paintings

2ch6layoutofdoom.jpg

* I'm pretty sure I have the numbering right
* The pink image in the lower corner of 5/8 is definately the Biohazard Symbol (so I'm guessing this is Peter in Future!NY)
* HRG looks like he's been shot through the eye - could Mohinder maybe shoot him?
* Claire in the last painting looks like she is kissing someone (I assume West), but I was thinking - could she be being comforted after finding her father dead?

Just a theory on the trapped blond girl painting and the suresh painting..
I think it's Nikki who is beating on the wall and it's Suresh actually shooting Nikki. Reason being, in the preview for next week Bob tells Suresh that he needs him and Nikki to give Mauri the virus. So it think they are portraying Nikki trapped in one of Mauri's mind illusions, or whatever you want to call them. And then I think Suresh, being under the same mind manipulation, accidently shoots Nikki ala the same scenario Matt and Nathan's fight scene occurred. Plus the preview shows Nikki launching Suresh across the room, so we know they get into some kind of an altercation. I don't think Suresh is shooting Mauri or HRG because their arc's have recently picked up so I can't see them dying. Plus it has been rumored that Nikki won't make it thru the season.

So you agree the two previous ones was boring then.

-hiro and kensais story is actually going somewhere

So?

-peter and caitlin trevels to the future to find new york evacuated

Nice ending but too little too late.

-HRG was a being total badass again (i didnt think he was gonna kill that guy!)

Ok.

-we saw the other 6 paintings

WOW! You mean we got to see six paintings? What will they think of next.

-monica is understanding her power more

It doesn't take much to satisfiy does it?

I think Peter is already immortal or soon will be because of his contact with Claire.I believe Kensei and Claire have the same powers. Claire has the power to heal herself, but we have seen that powers evolve. The power will probably evolve in stoping the ageing process.

Don't forget the Haitian and others with his power.

That painting of Claire on the steps looks just like when West dropped Claire on the bleachers/steps to freak out Debbie. It will probably be integral in Noah's discovery of Claire and West's activities.

Here's an out there thought that crossed my mind...what if Hiro is 'the dragon' from the legends. He guided Kensei to becoming the sword saint, there is going to be a confrontation between them over the princess, which could conceivably end with Kensei cutting out his own heart.

I think you're very close, however you have to remember that Issac's painting, while telling the future, take place as though they were giant comic book panels, meaning they happen in sequence. These last Issac paintings are a sequence of eight, with Kaito's death being first and HRG apparent death being last. If you look at how the paintings have been numbered (thanks to that screen cap) You will see that the Niki painting is number 4, while the Suresh with the gun painting is number 7. Number 5 (which shows Peter) and number 6 (which shows Hiro fighting Kensei) must take place before Sureshis shooting the gun, at least with regards to the way events will happen in the upcoming episodes. Also, notice that Mohindir has a bandage over his nose, which means he probably had it broken and that he got some medical attention. Because of this, I believe that
Paintings 3 (the hand with the vial), 4 (Niki pounding on something), 5 (Peter in a biohazard area), and 6 (Hiro swordfighting Kensei) are all going to happen in the next episode in that order. Then by either episode 9 or 10, will see the last two paintings, in that it's going to be Mohindir who shoots HRG.

OMFG!!! I'm sooo glad Kensei punched Hiro...I wanna do the same thing!!!

Last season I really liked Hiro (and who he would become (future Hiro)...so bad ass!

First he was so gung ho about being special, my mission, blah blah blah...was great I loved it.

NOW...it's twice that he's let himself stray for "being in love" bleh...

HIRO STOP BEING A ****** AND BE WHO YOU ARE MEANT TO BE!!!

...if I sound bitter it's becuase I am...

phew...thanks for letting me vent =^)

T\Having the healing power doesn't necessarily predilect a person from being immune to the virus. Remember, it is a virus that attacks the mutated portion of a person's DNA. And the virus itself can potentially grow into something more destructive. We'll see, I guess.

True. I think Claire's ability to heal would not protect her from the virus, but I do think that Kensei would be safe from it if he is in fact immortal.

I wonder if they'll tell us where the virus actually came from.

Hopefully. And I still think Maya and Jalapeno have something to do with the virus. I'm NOT saying Maya is the virus. But they have been given too much screen time not to have some kind of an important role down the road. I'm actually leaning towards them somehow being apart of the cure. Like maybe their DNA combined is the cure, or something to that effect.
