Chapter 6: "The Line" Discussion 10/29/07

No one is talking about it so I assume it's already been established that Monica and the bad cheerleader are the hottest females on the show right now. Her amazing legs through that cheerleader outfit almost killed me.

Plus, the show so far this season does not compare to the first season. First season was amazing, it seemed to me that the episodes got better each time, until the horrendous season finale that is. Now with the 2nd season, there's horrible writing, especially with the Hiro situation. Nothing makes sense in his scenes, and it doesn't help that they look like they're in an American park shooting the scenes. Claire *****ing constantly about what? Just being a normal high school girl is like rocket science for her. Every other human else does fine without having regeneration, why is so hard for her to pretend she doesn't have it?

Because she enjoys her powers now and wants to explore them.

Too late in the episode to show something really interesting. The show ended a few days ago just so you know.

Because it came at the end it was too late for you to have any interest in it?

The episode ended a few days ago, the show is not over. The chapter is not over. The season is not over. It is not too late for anything.

Has anyone here watched the Real World lately? During commercial breaks, they show "It's a Mall World", basically a condensed show sponsored by American Eagle Outiftters. It was actually pretty entertaining. The head cheerleader (played by Dianna Agron) is in it. She's a good girl in this one though.

To expand the "exploration" thing: She has expressed interest in finding out if her powers can somehow be used to help others. She was asking if maybe she can be used to grow replacement parts for other people, IIRC.

enjoy her powers? Regeneration isn't like flying, or xray vision. I guess she's completely forgotten how her and her whole family almost got killed last season. Yeah, she should go ahead and explore her powers.

I was trying to remember where I saw her from! I wonder what her and Monica's real names are.

They almost got killed because her dad lied to her. People act surprised that she's disobeying HRG. Did you forget that he used to be a villain? Did you forget that he put his wife in the hospital because of all the memory wipes? Or that he nearly got them killed by Ted?:whatever:

She's comfortable with her abilities. She likes them. She doesn't want to hide them. It's that simple.

[SARCASM] You are SOOOOO right! Claire is such a naive b*tch. How dare she try to find out if she can become a perpetual organ donor? Why doesn't she just sit around and NOT explore her powers...rather than using them for the greater good? [/SARCASM]

Because - since you were apparently sleeping - that's what Claire is doing. She's trying to HELP people.

They touched on that for all of 5 minutes. The main thing I've seen Claire do this season is try to prove she's all that by becoming a cheerleader and become a **** to that flying punk.

Ummm...sleeping again, have we?

Claire only wants to be on the cheerleading squad because she already told her Dad that she was on it. If she doesn't make the squad, he'll know she's lying to him.

And hanging out with your boyfriend makes you a "****?" Quickly, someone alert the church elders! :whatever:

Yeah, only reason she's lying stems back to what I was saying about her ****ting herself.

She's not a ****, but her boyfriend isn't exactly a good influence on her. She's disobeying her parents, lying to them, putting her family at risk, and pulling pranks on classmates that she probably would have objected to before she met West. She really had to be talked into the prank she pulled, and when her guilt stepped in afterwards, West erased that.

Surprises me that she'd be falling for him so easily though. She always seemed a little smart beyond her years, and after all she went through, you'd think she'd be even wiser.

She's still a teenager girl. Hormones > wisdom.:o

Eventhough Claire's arc is kind of treading water right now, her character has been set up good by the writers. Still being a teenager in high school, she is supposed to be impulsive and immature at times. She tried reaching out to Nathan when she was feeling like a lonely outcast due to her powers. When that failed it paved the way for West to connect with her on that level. And although West does annoy the hellout of me. Sorry Abaddon, no offense, since I have seen to stick up for Peter Pan in other threads. The truth is West is still probably doing what the writers intended in that he is annoying some of us, which creates gossip. Plus he is just creepy enough for us to entertaint he thought that he could be a mole for the Company.

It doesn't offend me that you're annoyed by him. I'm just not.

Anymore.:o

she met a boy she can tell about her powers and she likes him. What a ****e.
[SARCASM] Honestly! In my day, single girls were not ALLOWED to date single guys! ESPECIALLY if they share a common bond! That's ludicrous! [/SARCASM]

I don't bite on that West would have any relations with the Company. I think he's just someone who's cocky and overconfident because of his ability - I think this was evident when Claire asked about him obeying his parents. I mean, if I could fly I prolly would think that I don't need anything else from life.

I'm still betting on it that once West sees HRG, he'll crap his pants and returns later to ambush HRG.

I really dont get the speculation that West kills HRG. I mean, sure he seemed upset about what happened, but not to the point of wanting revenge. He only mentioned the incident once, anyways.

Or, maybe he just didn't trust Claire enough to reveal the truth, which could be anything from an anal probe to tethered swimming. His easygoingc facade might conceal true trauma!

Did anyone see the latest spoiler from Kristen of E! news?

Kensei has something to do with the scarring of Nathan.
