As a guy who lives in Texas, I've grown weary of shows and films who think they have to over-do a character's accent just to hit home the fact that they're from Texas.

For all 21 years of life I've spent here, there's not a single person I've dealt with that speaks like a cowboy hick...

I live in Lubbock and we hardly get mentioned except for Blob and now Douglas the Asian hick truck driver

No...not everyone here has a hick accent and it is hilarious to see shows like Friday Night Lights and movies about Texans and listen to their over exaggerated accents.
