Quick and dirty

Man, they picked a pretty bad picture for the front page of the Hype, but after seeing some other photos of him I could see him looking the part. The acting ability is where it counts the most though.

I really don't see why.

Casting was very good in TDKT.

Henry Cavill is generally agreed to be great as Superman.

Hell, even the Green Lantern movie got Mark Strong as Sinestro right.
I'm gonna have to disagree with this one. The performances were very good in TDKT, but most of the casting was so off.

Man of Steel and Green Lantern had good/great casting though.

Yeah no. The casting in TDKT was spot-on 98% of the time. And if the performance were good then the casting was good, it's that simple.

Solid choice. Relative unknown with a decent acting pedigree. The fan casting of Michael C Hall was cute, but do you really want to see Dexter as Daredevil?
Unknowns are the best way to go. Now off to the gym Charlies Cox. You have have work to do. ;)

Always find it surprising how many people don't watch Boardwalk Empire. But yeah he is great on that. Check out Owen Slater Bathroom Kill on youtube if you want to see him in physical action. Scene is a bit graphic though just a warning.

Yeah, I really need to watch Boardwalk Empire. I watch damn near every other HBO show but when I got the subscription, it was already a couple seasons in and I never took the time to try and catch up.

Thanks. Yeah, it just seems like the knee-jerk reactions run rampant when it comes to DC announcements. Now granted, at this point, Marvel does have a better track record overall, but often it seems like the DC actors aren't even given a chance by the fans.

You just answered yourself on why. Marvel's track record gives fans better trust in them. Not to mention this is for a Netflix TV show and not a movie so there was no way an A-list was gonna be on this project anyway.

So, a more accurate comparison would be the casting for Arrow, and also The Flash. Neither Amell as Ollie or Gustin as Barry were met with backlash.

Liked him in Stardust :) I'm good with this casting.

I love Charlie Cox! I liked him in Stardust and he was hot in Downton Abbey!

Of course they would announce who they cast as MM/DD when I'm out of town and wasn't presently using the Hype.

MARVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :argh:

I called them to tell them everything was clear to go through with it.

In all seriousness, I'm quite on board with this. Not only because he seems to be a fine actor, but also because I couldn't roll my eyes hard enough when people started suggesting Liam McIntire when Steven S. DeKnight was announced as the new showrunner. Oh, the lead actor from the series the showrunner last worked on? I hope you didn't pull a muscle coming up with that one. :whatever:

MARVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :argh:

Well go away again so they can announce the rest of the cast. :o

Pfft. When have you done me any favors? :o
