Cheerios commercial's racist backlash

It seems this stuff really only goes down with straight couples... I don't think I've ever heard of a black lesbian getting pissed off over a black/white lesbian couple, or a white gay guy seeing a black/asian gay couple and being like "See, why can't I get some of that?! :argh:"

:o

Being a persecuted minority themselves, how often are gays openly racist?

Not often, but not never.

As long as I'm free to date black girls, if and when it tickles my fancy, I'm OK with black men dating white women. Sounds fair to me.

Why bring horses into this?

Multiracial people can be extremely beautiful because they can sometimes have the best traits of multiple races.

Look at Brazilian women.

I say mix races as much as possible and admire the various outcomes.

I have actually seen white dudes online gripe about black dudes with asian chicks because apparently they "called them" before we did. Ironically no one gives a **** about the asian dudes in the equation.
Well from that BS Jill Scott thread, it says that Asian Men have it worse than Black Women in terms of of the opposite gender dating outside their race. We need an Asian entertainer to express his outrage.

Speaking of Brazil I watched a Channel 4 special about the plastic surgery there. One attractive mixed young women was having a nose job and the documentary maker asked why and was told that black/African features aren't as desirable as European ones :csad:

Her dad said it was very common in Brazil as despite it being a racial diverse and mixed country those with black heritage were still discriminated against.

Yeah Brazil is proof that a high multi-racial population doesn't ensure utopian, racial harmony.

But it does make for good eye candy.

Booty everywhere.

Of course, tough on the ears when they speak English.

Lol, when I used to write scripts (for corporate training videos, nothing exciting) and I had to give a character a name with no knowledge of the actor we would get to play that part, I always defaulted with a Portugese name (Sousa, Fernandes, Ferreira, etc.) because between Portugal, Brazil, Macau and India (and even the Philippines), the Portugese ancestry is probably the most diverse group on the planet.

Think Philippines is more Spanish than Portuguese. I believe a Portugal explorer claimed the Philippines in the name of Spain. Also Philippines was named after Spanish king, Philip.

Still, a few Portugese names pop up here and there, and are not considered out of place. All the privateers from various nations around that time left their mark.

Sure, admire human beauty. But when you start working it out into a system of "this race mixes well with this race", it starts to become weird.

Heh, yeah. I hear people say stuff like "(insert race here) people and (insert race here) people make puuurttty babies" and it makes me laugh. Like it's guaranteed or something.

Yep. The mindset goes so far out of its way to be progressive that it creates all new racial stereotypes.

I wouldn't say it was as much? Maybe a few families? But probably lost in the sea of Spanish colonization.

I mean Spanish and many Tagalog dialects are very similar. Plus, my last name is a city in Spain.

What's weird about it?

We're animals with genetic traits. Some these traits work really well together.

Maybe appreciating how well these traits mix together will make people appreciate the potential of racial mixing.

Rarely will a racist admit bi-racial/multi-racial people are beautiful. It's because they don't want to acknowledge that race mixing can be a good thing.

I'm not suggesting we start genetically experimenting with humans like dog breed (though I'm certain it's been done throughout history). I'm just saying when a two ethnicities result in exceptional beauty often that people are allowed to simple take notice and appreciate the potential.

The point I was trying to make is similar to that of India, where it's not a Portugese country per se, but in the past the Portugese have had some degree of colonial influence to the point where it is not strange to see people named Acevedo or Da Silva walking around.

I think a lot of the Aryan and KKK propaganda books and paraphernalia stated that the only thing worse than a Black person was the product of a union of a Black and White person.

Acevedo is a Spanish surname. :o

But I understand what you are saying.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm not getting into THAT debate. In Toronto, that kind of thing can start a street riot/party, depending on the current football schedule. :oldrazz:

Yes the "horrors" of a bi-racial/multi-racial human is central to racist ideology.

Which is why I instinctively take the opposite extreme. Bi-racial/multi-racial people are more often a gift to humanity than a curse.

Tell THAT to the piles of broken bodies of WWE wrestlers that The Rock has left in his wake! :oldrazz:
