Christian Bale to Star in Zhang Yimou’s ‘Flowers of War’

Overall this movie was decent with good and bad parts. Schamltzy is a word that some critics have used to describe this movie and you can certainly see that. Some of the dramatic beats are not earned and feel forced.

Okay China, we get it, long live the People"s Republic. We get that you hate the Japanese, and foreign devils (Once Upon a Time in China movies, Fist of Legend, Bodyguard and Assassins, Hero, Ip Man, Fearless, etc, etc.)

As tragic as the Rape of Nanking was, I can't get myself to watch anymore anti-Japanese Chinese movies.

I understand where you 're coming from, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't feel for for the innocent Chinese who died there. In fact all countries, (meaning their governments) are guilty of crimes and injustice invasions during the course of history. Not all Germans are guilty of Hitler's butcherings, the same with Israel vs Palestine, USA vs Iraq etc. All wars are a f*** topic anyway who benefit the most, those in power and the war industries.
