You were impressed with Page? I thought she was just ok.

in some ways, yes. i didnt watch juno or any of her movies. so i cant compare her performance with her previous work...

for me, a big let down was jgl character. he definitely had some great scenes but i expected a bit more...but hell in the end it's a blockbuster and you really cant go deep with all the characters...leo was the focus and the rest played a solid role in his world..

Old Saito was very well done...I thought it looked like an old man for sure

1. DiCaprio
2. Murphy
3. Collitard
4. Page
5. Wantanabe
6. Levitt
7. Hardy

;)

'Tis better.

He doesn't know what he is talking about. Leo was FANTASTIC in Inception. It was a subtle performance. Appearently subtle translates to auto-pilot for some. His performance is as good as Guy's in Memento.

I thought Leo did an excellent job, as usual....his past 4 or 5 films have all been damn good...Body of Lies didn't get enough attention IMO

noone said leo was not good. some people had problems cause he almost had the same
issues in his last two movies.

Well yeah his character from Shutter Island is a litte bit like hischaracter Dom Cobb from this film....but still a great performance in this film by Leo.

One of the reasons I thought Page did a great job was because during her sequences I totally forgot all the bagage she came in with (Juno hatred). I thought she was very essential to Cobb's character just like Mal was.

Totally agree. She gave a very mature performance in this film and I loved her emotional connection to Cobb.

Meanwhile, Inception dropped just 3.4% on Thursday and has now crossed $100m in 7 days. It is looking at a 2nd weekend in the area of $40-45m, putting it at a total of $140-145m and well on its way to $280+ million domestic. Excellent performance. :woot:

nice...and oversea the same numbers and it is a financial success...

I loved Leo in the film. He underplayed it. How else would you play it if you're struggling with your past through memories and keeping it bottled up? It's like having a dream or something and not wanting to tell anyone about it. It was never off balance.

I loved it too. The stuff with Marion was heartbreaking to watch. Amazing acting from both of them.

I thought all the performances were fantastic. Leo knocked it out of the park more than anyone, but he was the main character, so it makes sense that he would outshine everyone else to some degree.

And as someone who has enjoyed all of Ellen Page's prior work (other than X-Men... btw, did any of you read the AICN interview where she dissed Ratner? Classic.) I think she delivered another stellar performance. She's 10 times more talented than most of the actors in her age range, and she's only going to get better. To anyone calling her the "weak link" in the cast or saying that "anyone could have played that part," I think they are just people that hated Juno for some reason and can't get over that.

If anyone could have played Ariadne, then tell me honestly... would you have enjoyed this movie as much as you did had Kristen "What's a Facial Expression?" Stewart been cast in the role?

Completely agreed. Both scenes of him losing her were amazing. Not to many death scenes in hollywood can keep you from remembering that you are watching a movie. Totally wrenching.

Inception breaks $100M in just 7 days. $8.56M THU, $100.155M total according to WB estimates.

Fantastic!!

Similar issues yes, but completely different performances. Teddy was not a reserved dude, he was explosive.

Cobb is the opposite.

Indeed. Had me on the verge of tears. No emotion in this film? I call malarkey on those critics.

Oh hell no. Nolan's first choice was Evan Rachel Wood, but she declined due to scheduling conflicts. I thought Page did a great job.

page did a great job. i praised her in this thread. she suprised me. and i was happy with her.

why not portman? she's a great actress....
