Christopher Nolan's Inception

He got a Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture, but **** all that. Christian Bale finally got nominated.

Inception, nominated for:

Best Picture
Best Visual Effects
Best Original Score
Best Cinematography
Best Sound Mixing
Best Sound Editing
Best Art Direction
Best Original Screenplay

How does a director that takes a 10 year idea/story about dreams that make people think and go to the theater more than twice, which was all brought to life through amazing and real-life effects?

Just baffling...

How the hell did Nolan not get nominated for best director???:argh:

Well since Nolan didn't get nominated for Director, it definitely won't win best picture.

it looks like, and you can quote me on this, that either The Kings Speech or Social Network will win the big awards

Nolan should shoot his TDKR follow up, with two people, in a room, just talking, with one static camera. Oscar gold, I tell you!

Even better: Make that Twitter movie. 140 minutes long. Leo DiCaprio as the Tweetbird and Christian Bale as the Fail Whale.

Isn't this our third Inception thread?

the editing snub was a tad worse...

Inception, nominated for:

Best Picture
Best Visual Effects
Best Original Score
Best Cinematography
Best Sound Mixing
Best Sound Editing
Best Art Direction
Best Original Screenplay
and will probably not get any of them...:csad:

How does the film get nominated in that many technical categories, Best Screenplay, AND Best Picture, and yet...not get a Best Director nomination? That is ridiculous.

Seriously. Take out the Coen Brothers and give it to Nolan. I mean the Coens get an automatic nomination every time it seems like.

It looks like it will come down to those two, which isn't really a bad thing. Both are great films, and there have been many a ceremony where the front-runners aren't so special.

The Kings Speech can win as many as it wants. But I'm sick of hearing about The Social Network.

Ditto with the Squirrel.

And so far, Nolan seems to have the "Spielberg/Scorsese course" Awesome movies, no Director oscars (till late in their carrers).

Ok guys. Inception has one oscar in the bag. 100% sure win. And that's Visual Effects. It's a sure thing, so we will at least have that. And don't forget that the film is still favorite in the sound categories.

Statisticly the film still have chanse at Score, Art and Cinematography. But those will probably go to The King's Speech.

This.

I could understand the snub if they entirely ignored the film and only nominated if for Original Screenplay and Score or something, but this is truly annoying.
