Descriptions? :D

(major spoilers)
I can't remember too much but the descriptions sounded fantastic. Examples of those that I'm looking forward to seeing are what they see as their ship goes through the wormhole and black hole. They also visit another planet. It has an icy atmosphere and then they get to see some of the life forms there. There's also a glimpse of the future - like in 2200s. In terms of action, there's a part where the life forms chases them and then there's also a part where their ship goes through **** as it goes inside the wormhole. Those kinds of things. Not exactly fighting type of action.

Definitely not as much as Inception. It's more of exploration (as you'd expect from a space expedition movie) rather than action. But there are some still some stunning action pieces.

Is there a villain or is the tension and action from complications in their journey?

Kvz5 -
Brand, the character you think Anne will play - is she a biologist? If not, what is her profession?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. :) I like the sound of [BLACKOUT]the planet with the icy[/BLACKOUT] atmosphere.

There's also jungles in that planet. :woot:

Awesome, that will make for a very interesting contrast. This sounds like it could be Nolan's most visually ambitious movie to date.

I'm already about to explode from excitement and there are still.....18 months, 12 days, 2 hours and 11 minutes to go. I'm not going to make it.

I only just reached the ice planet in the script but really, if Chris keeps this for his version then visually it will look incredible.

Basically they discover that the ice is actually 'the roof' of a vast jungle below them when they fall through some caverns whilst exploring and end up in an underground lake. At night the entire forest (trees, plants, everything) becomes alive and detaches themselves into smaller creatures, which can then go on to join up and make bigger creatures and so forth.

Can somebody send me the script please?

It's basically Into the Wild in Space.

kvz5 have you read rendezvous with rama ? Reading your comment , it reminded me a little bit of Arthur's C. Clarke book. Good comparison ?

The crazy thing is... that planet is Earth!

Apparently Nolan changed the gender of
one of Cooper's kids (he has 2 boys in the script). I bet Nolan expanded "Murph"
and my guess is that's who Chastain (if Anne is playing "Brand" ) is playing (or vice versa if Chastain is "Brand").

Nope. I haven't read it but I'll check it out.

It's cool that the script has gotten a positive response. I wonder how much Chris changed in his rewrite, apparently adding an original idea of his own.

Any chance of Anne Hathaway keeping her blonde hair and dressing like Sheena Queen of the Jungle? :oldrazz:

You'd probably be happy to know that there's a gratuitous
sex scene.
:o

Totally rolled my eyes at that part...

FINALLY finished the script. I loved it. The last thirty pages or so nearly had me tearing up. If Nolan's version is anything like this script, we're in for something really special.

It's a really daunting concept; only days passing for you but years passing back home. The fact that by the end of the film Cooper is hundreds of years old is crazy, and it's even crazier when you realise it's (most likely) real.

Visually the movie will be stunning - there's a lot of gravitational shift scenes, both on the ship and on the ice planet, which I think Chris will have a lot of fun with. I love how, in a sense, it's a complete love letter to sci-fi - some aspects remind me of Star Wars, particularly the first act.

If I had to improve anything it's that the other crew members, Doyle and Roth, aren't fleshed out at all which is surprising considering the script is over 150 pages. Really, the movie would work just as well if Cooper and Brand were the only crew members since they do most of the talking. Plus it's a shame, towards the end we finally get some inside into Doyle... Then he dies. Same with Roth.

Then again, I have no doubt Chris will make the most of this movie and create something that's really incredible

Roth has a potential to be a scene stealer and a fan favorite if Nolan can just flesh him out more.

Not really.

I do want to see some iconic imagery though. I'd like to see Anne as some kind of blonde space babe.

Yeah, definitely. The fact he doesn't have an awful lot of lines at first doesn't help either. Like others have said, Gary Oldman should definitely play him... He fits the role like a glove.

If it's iconic imagery you're looking for character-wise, you'll be disappointed. Potentially the design of [BLACKOUT]Tars and Case[/BLACKOUT] but other than that no. It's the space scenes and the stuff on the ice planet that will leave it's mark on audiences for decades
