you know i wouldn't mind him not flying if he was more adventurous with his super jumps at least to buy him some time but they are just big teases.
this thought process is flawed.1)In that episode where he stoped the nuke by jumping up and disarming it ..how did he get back down to earth
2)I think it's simple why he doesn't fly ..it's too expensive. Now it might have gotten cheaper as new techniques have been implemented thus why we have seen Kara fly lately. Before they would have had to use it sparingly between eps and when they did'nt have him fly people would be like ''oh why did'nt he just fly like he did last episode''.
Now if you want to get scientfic why can Superman fly ?What makes him fly ?
Strength comes naturally he just lift's something and relizes he is strong.
Speed again he runs normal next thing he is moving very quickly
invulnerability It's just there he puts his hand in a shedder and nothing happen's
X=Ray vision Suddenly effected him and he had to learn to control it..after having a look in the girls locker room..well done
Heat VisionSuddenly happpened when he got horny and had to learn to controlit
Super hearing Manifested it self when he was blinded
Flying he is going to have to learn it wont just happen.
That all said I would like to see him fly at some point

Clark hs never flown on the show? He is seen flying in space in the opening. Where is taht from?
Oh for cryin' out loud - now you're not a fan because the show could have done better? Why are you even posting here? Seriously?
Like the episode Crimson!
That was one episode. "More adventurous" means it has to be consistent. And those six episodes listed on the previous page, those don't hold water. Why? because the show has been on since 2001. It has been running for about six years. Six episodes for a show thats been around for six years is a pretty sad scinereio. So bringing that up in a counter-arguement may work against you.
I did not mean it like that. I meant that as an example of one episode which I think SV should be more like.![]()
I'm just gonna throw in 2 cents here: if you want the show to end, then keep begging for the flying.
YOU ALL KNOW THAT FLYING WILL BE THE CLIMAX OF THE SERIES, and therefore, the end of the series as well. That's the way the series was imagined from the beginning, and I can nearly garentee, that's how it will end.
I actually disagree with a lot of people here. I don't mind that they never used flying, and I don't mind that they want to wait till the last episode, but the power has lost all of its magic and appeal. Instead of building to the last episode and Clark realizing "Holy ****, I can fly!", with Kara flying around, Clark has become the only kid in the class who doesn't know how to read. Every single person who knows Clark's secret knows now that he will eventually be able to fly. Instead of an awe-inspriing moment, it'll be more like, "Jesus, its about time you started flying." No magic.![]()
I agree with you there. As I said before. I think they are saving it for the series finale. Which I think is quite disappointing.
maybe, however, you were never mislead. Since before the show aired a long long time ago, every viewer new, that a show about young superman would 1) end with flying, and 2) never move on to become a full out superman tv show
I think we can all agree that it was never expected that the show would become a Superman T.V. show. But I don't know about your first point up there. Some of us expected some 'leaping', which seldom happened. Also, I was expecting Clark to have learned how to fly by now. The leaping should have happened long ago, and by now he should have had a good grip on flight.
The leaping thing makes no sense, especially since he KNOWS he has heigntened muscles. Unless Clark is just really ****ing stupid. I mean he can already rip **** apart with his bare hands (pure strength) and move incredibly fast (brain response, and muscle strength), so you figure he'd realize that he can jump really high/far.
What are you babbling about? the leaping did happen long ago. He leaps hundreds of feet into the air when ever necessary. Does he have to every episode? Hell no, that would be ridiculous.
He has. and he does.
Obviously he hasn't mastered leaping long enough to have learned flight. Regarding him having to do it in every episode: No I don't want him to leap or fly in every episode. But as I have stated before, six episodes for a show that has been running for 6 years, that's certainly not enough for a origin-show on Superman. Thinking up one or two more episodes in the past won't help anything either.
Yeah, ok... Leaping isn't flight. Just because the two traits are related, does not make them the same thing. I can be really, really friggin good at leaping around. I could jump abnormally high for a human. But it'll never be flying. Clark knows how to jump.
Yes, the show is in it's seventh year. But creating a bunch more random scenarios where he is forced to super jump, just so they could have him super jump, is asinine.
It would seem just that. Forced, and would get tiresome if it happened more than once or twice in a season.
Perhaps a Superman history lesson is in order?![]()
Perhaps a step off that really high horse of yours is too.
Here's a lesson in Superman history for you - Smallville is establishing its own version of the Superman tale.
An average of 4-5 million viewers a week for SEVEN seasons disagree with you.
Do you personally know the 4-5 million viewers, and their opinion on the way they are handling Clark's flight?
