lol I can't believe someone wrote

"2/5 or 6/10" when mathematically those are two completely different scores lolz...

it's 3/5 or 6/10 that equivalent... makes no sense to say 2/5 or 6/10... that's like saying I'm gonna give it a 40% or a 60%...

that was me.
basically I was the movie is below average. wasn't trying to be exact

*spoilers*

my problem with the movie

* the kraken was transformers-esque in that I couldn't see what the heck was going on with the creature. were those tentacles his arms? his legs? what. a. mess.

* you don't care about andromeda so you don't care about the journey to save her.

* the hades/zeus sub plot adds nothing to the movie

* the scorpion journey is frankly boring

* the scorpion king (or what ever the heck that thing was) added nothing to the story

* perseus' journey is about revenge rather than love and as such wasn't as interesting to me as the original

* medusa is far more creepy and menacing in the original, the update looks fake and was far too fluid in movement.

* io added as the love interest? why, when everything should be focused on the princess about to be sacrified. talk about superfluous

okay stuff I loved

* pegasus looked fantastic

* olympus and the gods looked fantastic

* the gritty setting looked great

ME and the GF saw the 2d version last night.
(did not bother with the 3D, I love 3D but only when the movie is made with it.. not added in as a afterthought)

I thought this movie was okay (6.5 out of 10)

The CGI was fantastic. It is pretty amazing what they can do these days.
The action was pretty good.
The story, while it could have been good just seemed rather lazy and rushed.
The acting..well..yeah..for the most part pretty bad.
I wish they would cast people to fit the roles and not cast people because "they are the in thing right now".

It was a good time waster.

And for people who complain about the Kraken "fight" being so short.. well that is just the way it is.. you can not have much of a fight with that creature.. either it kills you in a few seconds or it looks at the Medusa head and dies.. you can not really drag that out, and I think they did a good job of dragging it out with those flying creatures.

Btw you could CLEARLY see the Krakens arms, its lobster like legs, and yes it also had tenticles.. not much mistaking what this creature was, again pretty impressive CGI in this movie even if the rest of the movie was so-so

Surprised no has mentioned the Friday estimates for this movie, $26 million, surely that means a $60-$70 million weekend at least?

You know what got me? When the **** did Perseus lose Medusa's head during the Kraken sequence? All of a sudden I see Perseus chasing after a harpie that has her head???

Should be over $60m at least. Not bad but kind of in line with expectation. Next weekend will be the big test.

It's gonna drop next weekend I'm pretty sure.

And I like those Calibos scrapped designs. Better than what we got. And Medusa should have been ugly.

Make sure you eat that lobster. Crack it open with your knife and slam it onto the table and proclaim, "I AM A MAN!"

Seriously my favorite quote right now, haha.. I swear I was waiting for him to slip and say, "I'm a man, not a machine." :oldrazz:

A very fun movie. Could it have been a little better? Yes. It is still as enjoyable as the "Pirates of The Carribean" films and as energetic as "300". A light-hearted "300".

8 out of 10.

Draco was my favorite, he didn't even flinch when Medusa turned him into stone

I gave it a 6.5, tops. Nothing was really spectacular about the movie, with the exception of the Kraken. The story and the film was also way too rushed for something of this scale. My girlfriend kept talking about how they'd explain how Perseus was a demigod, but there's a difference between explaining a plot point and taking the time to make it matter in regards to the story. My biggest problem overall was the pacing, but, honestly, it had it's fun moments. Draco was badass, and I loved seeing Mads Mikkelson in something that wasn't Casino Royale.

This film was really enjoyable. Glad I saw the 2D version instead of dealing with the mess I heard about the 3D one.

Yeah, there were problems with pacing, and some if the acting was bad. The action was good and engaging enough.

It was interesting comparing stuff from Percy Jackson with this one. CotT's Medusa was a lot better.

Really? I thought it was the opposite, I prefer Medusa in Percy Jackson, as the one in CotT was the low point of the CGI for the film, everything else looked great except for Medusa. At least, in my humble opinion.

Was I the only one who closed his eyes during the whole medusa sequence ? or why can everybody talk about it ? you guys are insane ....

Just got back from seeing it...what a load of garbage.

The most striking thing to me is that the previews featured THREE movies who's plot is that this government agent is the best there is, but has now been framed, and will get revenge and clear their name! (The Losers, The A-Team and Salt)

But yeah...Titans is crap.

I think that this film, wether you liked it or not, it is in a safe spot. Meaning, this film never had big shoes to fill in, for afterall, the original film wasn't a "grand" or masterpiece of a film. Many Harryhausen fans would say it was the weakest of his films. Like the original film, this remake has its flaws and its charms. Sam Worthington may lack the commanding prescence of a Christian Bale or Gerard Butler, but he was still better than Harry Hamlin.:cwink: Some of the dialogue in this film may be "stiff", but then so it was in the original. This could have been the intention in making this remake; to create a fun film that didn't take itself too seriously, much like the original. At the same time, this film showed more of what I always wished the original could have.

I have to give the movie a 7/10. It was just a lot of fun to go see on a weekend afternoon.

Yeah, I'm not sure you can intentionally make a cheesy film. Cheesy films are that combo of bad effects, quick shooting, and people trying or not trying to read stupid dialogue convincingly.

I'm not sure that's what this was. This just feels like a badly written movie with okay acting. Sam Worthington's acting wasn't bad per say, it was that he didn't have any charisma or reaction to what was going on.
And the writing wasn't the kind of cheesy where stuff is explained and stupid. It just wasn't thought out. What exactly was Io? A demi-god or cursed with agelessness? Cause neither of them stopped her from dying so why is she complaining about seeing her loved ones die? Kill yourself.

And why does Zeus release the Kraken after helping Perseus get the head to defeat it?

And why did Io say Hades could be killed with the Kraken gone then he doesn't kill Hades?
