Because for me Hulk didn't seem like Hulk.
You know in Ang Lee's Hulk when he is jumping through the air? The moment when Hulk is soaring through the air and he has that look of peace on his face?
Or when he lands at that little lake and sees his reflection in the water and looks at it in wonder like a little child.
Or the "Puny human" part showing the dual personalities between Banner and Hulk.
THAT is what Hulk should be like. And the action scenes were better. The part in the desert is still one of the best scenes in any comic book movie ever IMO.
TIH had "Hulk SMASH!" and "Leave me alone!" oh wow! That is what makes Hulk Hulk!
And Gen Ross was mischaracterized because he didn't give one toss about his daughter. There was no conflict in him between duty and his daughters love. He didn't care that his daughter loved Banner. He was just like "THAT MANS ENTIRE BODY IS PROPERTY OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY!"
The only time he seemed to care about his daughter is when the helicopter crashed.
In the comics he was an prick, for sure. But there was still some conflict in him about how to deal with Hulk.
