So F/X aside, the original is much more 'enjoyable'...?

No offense, guys, but will you take the Hulk talk somewhere else, please.

They may as well talk about something given how Clash is being received.

I need to rewatch Hulk again. Thinking about it, apart from a few eccentricities, I think the film stands out. It shows Hulk can be more than just "HULK SMASH!" that only serves for action scenes. They added depth. I mean why can't Hulk have that kind of depth? Because the comics say so?

I think with Wolverine they could go the Ang Lee or say, Tarence Mallick way of making a Wolverine film. I think that character deserves a very in depth tragedy.

Anyway, despite the bad press, I'm still seeing this tomorrow. C'mon, you can't ignore Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson as ****ing gods! And Ang Lee's Hulk is underrated. Much better than the generic reboot.

The reviews I read pretty much confirmed what I thought the movie was going to be after I watched the clips. LL isn't a great director anyhow. TIH was fun but was too stupid for it's own good and I didn't buy Norton's performance.

As for the other Hulk movie, the road to hell was paved with good intentions. Nolan made a great thoughtful Superhero movie but Ang Lee just botched it completely with his ultra serious tonilly confused mastercrap. I didn't dislike it because of it's boxoffice I disliked it because it didn't come together and Bana was terrible in it. End of my opinion.

And back to what the thread is about....

This movie is mostlikely crap but I still see it opening with 50 to 65mil and dropping like a bad habit afterwards.

damn wanted to check it out tonight but my theater aint playing it :(

well i finally saw it...

Mads Mikkelsen was great(and stole the show), liam neeson and ralph fines looked like they shot all there scenes in one single morning... they were still acting like this was shakespear though.

its official however, Sam Worthington should never EVER be the lead actor in any film ever again.. freakin terribly wooden! and im not exaggerating (im actually underplaying it).

this movie was the epitome of quick forgettable cheap thrills...

with that said i enjoyed very small moments(medusa, though extremely short), but the major parts and events were completely under played (the kraken and hades vs. perseous).

this is one of those dissapointing films where if you saw and were at awe at the trailer... thats all you're gonna get.

6 out 10.... but i never wanna see it again. zero rewatchability.

I'm very disappointed that the general consensus from those who've seen it is that it's pretty bad overall. I had hopes that it would be good, because I am a huge fan of the original movie.

I'll still check it out, but I know now it ain't going to surpass the original.

totally agree

sad thing is I watched the original last weekend on AMC (they were doing a Harryhausen introspective) and I thought that the new movie wasnt going to surpass it

i liked the movie enough, but my conclusion is that i definitely don't want LL to direct Avengers, he can't deliver epic climaxes. both this and TIH's ending battles build to the point where you think things are really going to take off, and then just end.

Thanks for the review xwolverine2.

I am so over Sam Worthington, he might just be the Kevin Cosner of this generation. A bland ass charismaless cypher who is inexplicably popular.

Did you see it in 2D?

So there wasn't enough of Hades & Zeus?

How was Sam's accent? Was it consistent throughout? Some clips he sounded different.

Asking if Sam's accent is consistent is kinda like asking if there are any childmoslesting priests.

i would've obviously liked to have seen more of hades... [BLACKOUT]he put up no fight whatsoever[/BLACKOUT] and Zeus served no purpose he was just there.. like all the other pointless gods on Olympus.

i didnt mind his accent or even notice it... he barely spoke enough to care.
He mainly just kept repeating throughout the movie "i dont want to be a god, i fight as man".

oh and i'd expect an extended edition or something. you don't cast Danny Huston as Poseiden and then only give him one line where you can't even see him

What do you mean F/X aside? Ray Harryhausen > CGI any day of the week!

He's only popular becuase he's still cheap, wait until he starts asking for $20 million dollar paychecks. It'll be DTV land for him.

should be around the time of Avatar 2

lmao his role = "you should hear him Zeus"

the rest of the gods were completely out of focus in the background and never spoke...

Wish you could promise me that. I've heard about how he really is a good actor and has alot of charisma but I haven't seen it yet. If he is so good how come he can't show us some of that charisma in a dumb action movie? Charisma is all actors have in dumb action movies, if he can't deliver he shouldn't be in them. Period.

word :hehe:
it gets worse in COTT
knew you'd get a kick out of that.

The wave of meh surrounding this release is disconcerting. :(
