The Dark Knight Comedy in TDK

I liked Bruce's dry humor. I really liked playboy Bruce. Christian Bale plays that personality of the self-absorbed playboy so well.

Do you think there will be the same amount of comedy in TDK as there was in BB? Or maybe even more or less. I think BB had the perfect amount of comedy, so I wouldnt mind if TDK had the same.

The amount was ok. The quality of it was god awful.

I hope the comedy will come from joker's black humour and not crappy one-liners.

how? because i don't remember a random, inane, and pointless two-second portion of the movie where an unrecognizable actor playing a bum says two words
This should be self-explainatory. If i don't even remember that tiny, pointless, and agreeably dumb part of the movie, then why would i remember the race of the man who says the line? I have already admitted that it was an assumption based on seeing the same bum in the other scenes. Hence the "Sue me. ".

But to say that you didn't know that it wasn't the same guy, when they were both CLEARLY shown is astounding to me. Regardless of how "inane" the scene was.

Isnt there going to be a funny scene with a bunch of criminals all crammed behind a bench? or something to that effect?

Bruce Wayne better not dance to a disco song.

The Joker should only make us chuckle. Not like LOL OMG THAT'S SO FUNNY!

For the Joker I'd like to see some disturbing yet funny humor in the movie; maybe he could use his truck and crush an old man into a brick wall and say some out of the blue line that would be worth a chuckle.:woot:

same here man. i thought Keaton had the best dry humour of all the batman actors (trying to be intentionaly funny, not unintentionally funny). i thought the funniest part of BB was when batman said "its what i DOOOO that defines me!", LMAO.

seriously though, i didnt like the whole playboy stuff, like when hes with those 2 bimbos and hes acting all clueless and stuff. i didnt like that. also, alfred's humour was pretty lame. i still think the best alfred funny moment was when selina says to make up a dirty limirick and he responds "one has just SPRUNG to mind":woot: . theres gotta be better humour in the nolan movies, and hopefully that will come in the form of Joker. "GENTLEMAN, LETS BROADEN OUR MINDS!"

I never laughed out loud at any Joker incarnation in the comics/TAS/movies. I smiled a little during Dini's Slayride (the drive through sequence when he shoots the manager) but that's about it. Other times I just smile or suppress a mild giggle, but not ROFL LMAO like this:

I want Joker to make me laugh. But a laugh where all my moral barometers go haywire. :csad:

Something that makes for a unique experience at the theater, such as Joker saying a punchline that has the entire audience roaring "TEOL"s then he blows someone's head off. Unsupressable laughter then awkward, shocked silence.

I won't feel uncomfortable about it. That's what im waiting for, that's why I love the Joker. He's a sick and twisted ****!

As for comedy, BB was alright. A little bit less would be appreciated but definetly no more than what was in BB. I like the jokes like,
Alfred: Sir, the guests will be arriving soon.
Bruce: Tell them that joke you know.

THe ones that need to be kept out of this film are those damn studio forced jokes that nod to the audience. Treates us like morons. Like,

Gordon: I got to get me one of those.

Random stupid Bum thrown in just for the line: Whoa, nice ride!:whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

im sorry but i disagree... you need a little humor even if its stupid... a movie cant be too seriosu, HELL i drive a 500+ HP car everyday and when i saw the tumbler i said the same thing gordon did... i was like DAAYYMMMNNNNN

You're misquoting me now, i said that i "assumed it was the same guy" because i seen the other guy twice before and the thought of him appearing again for a similarly useless line of dialogue isn't unreasonable. The way you're saying it makes it seem as though i saw them both and couldn't tell the difference. I couldn't remember what the bum looked like who said he had a nice car, as in i could not recall his appearance. At all. I assumed and filled in the blank myself, and yes i was wrong, but Jesus, he could have been carrying a big sign that read "I AM NOT THE SAME BUM AS BEFORE" for all i care; if i couldn't remember it, it wouldn't make a difference. Hell, the only reason i remembered what the other bum looked like at all was because i had recognized him from Snatch.

The whole movie the audience should be acting and looking like this! :

- Note, I am just exagerating.

I'm fine with a little bit comedy as long as it's not cringe inducing and incredibly stupid like Transformers (which i'm sure it won't be).

Transformers was hilarious! :)

And at least I know I'm not alone because the audience I was with every time (4) loved the comedy as well.

But, that humor wouldn't fit a Batman movie.

At least Bale's Bruce had a, you know, personality. And it was an act straight from the comics. AND there was a point to it, to misdirect attention from him as Batman.

And yes! There MUST be humor JUST LIKE in Burton's movies!! YES!! Of course!! :whatever:

Best Batman, Keaton. Best Bruce, Bale.
Please, keep the humour to a minimum, especially with Mr J, I'd rather have him scare the s**t out of me than make me laugh too much.

Best Batman, Keaton. Best Bruce, Bale.

Bale's Batman actually did stuff. Not just hold up guys by their shirts a foot off the ground that are twice Keaton's size.

Bale was a lot more creature of the night than Keaton EVER was.

I was more talking about the eyes. Like what Ledger said when first talking about his own part. But I do respect other people's taste and can totally understand what you mean.

Equal, different takes- both good. I actually can't decide between the two.

Keaton seems to have captured the whole Frank Millar era of the 80s Batman comic books.

Similarly, Bale seems to capture the whole Jeph Loeb era of the Batman comic books.

It's hard to choose because they are-somewhat- looking at the different variations over the years and picking & choosing different aspects to focus on.
