Comic Con Trailer Description

The premise for The Walking Dead sounds straight up generic and the trailer for it is underwhelming,it looks like a straight to dvd release too. Imo,there are better looking zombie movies, way better.

Psst... TWD is a tv series.

Not a movie, a TV series. On AMC. With Frank Darabont heading it up. And the premise is basically "what happens to these people after your typical zombie movie?"

Whoops. I still don't feel the premise,oh well. I'm surprised he worked on A Nightmare On Elm Street 3:The Dream Warriors.

To each his own. It looks great to me, but I'm a big fan of the comic series.

What shape was the Shield Base in?
The Ultimate Nullifier. A device Uatu gave Reed Richards to call Galactus' bluff. It destroys both the user and the target. I've since taken a screencap of the base, and if it's coincidental it's a pretty spectacular one.

It would be fun to see Uatu in Thor's sequels. Kirby and Lee did a ton of cosmic stuff with Thor.

Ha, yeah, I guess it does have a similar shape. I wonder if that was intentional or just a coincidence...

it's a tv show. and given both the source material and the fact that it's an amc series, it will be one of the absolute best things on television.

Meh,tv is dead to me,very dead. It will only get worse as time flies by.

TV's getting a lot better to me, provided you're watching cable. The networks are pretty much dead.

I wanna say intentional...but why would you even bother when you could've just used the actual device as they did with the Infinite Gauntlet

Only thing I'll watch on network TV is football and The Family Guy. Cable is obviously a notch above, but it is INFESTED with obnoxious reality programming.

I still like some of NBC and ABC's sitcoms, and Fox has some decent dramas. That's about all. USA, TNT, and AMC are the big names in TV for me at this point.

The faciltiy is also missing a roof. Obviously it's so When Thor picks up mjolnir the lightning will strike down. But if your shield and running test on something why wouldn't it be in a controlled enviroment. They just leave it out in the open. Just something I found funny. Also just wait till they add the effects for mjolnir or Thor flying or you see magic then you will change your mind. Still have a ways to go till a real trailer is cut.

Yeah, I thought that was weird too. I figured maybe they left the roof off for a crane to come down and try to excavate Mjolnir or something.

Does anybody know what song it is that starts playing when we see the close-up of Thor in the chair?

I still haven't decided on the trailer; I can see both sides of the argument...and I'm not sure either side is right.

It looks entertaining, but parts of it look a little cheap. The Frost Giants (if that's what those are) are an incredible disappointment. Maybe I expected more than I should have.

I think they would have tried a crane or a forklift or something before settin up shop. Like in iron man 2 they found it and probably tried everthing to get it back to shield but couldn't lift it. So then they set up shop to run test. they put a couple levels but no roof, lol

Just wait till they add the effect for mjolnir or there is magic or Thor flying. The movie comes out next year. Trailer was just comic con footage to show the characters and locations. Also to give an idea of what they are doing with Thor.

I'm a complete and utter Thor layman, but the trailer made the movie look rather entertaining. Okay, it wasn't very well put together, but regardless of that I find the whole mystical thing about it very appealing. I hope it'll be good.

Eh, that's okay, as I don't think I've ever agreed with a single opinion you've expressed on the boards. It's got to the point where you hating the look of something is almost the final seal of approval that confirms it'll be worth watching. :oldrazz:

But yeah, as Corp says, it might seem like a generic zombie tale at first, but it really becomes very much it's own beast as it progresses, and the TV medium is the perfect format to adapt that kind of story. And AMC is where it's at in TV Land these days.

I've watched it probably 15 times since last night. I'm still excited for it, but my criticisms/concerns for some areas have grown a little bit.

Here's what I really liked:

1. Thors physique
2. The Warriors Three
3. Odin and his speech
4. Coulson's quip about Stark
5. Loki (still think he's going to steal the show)
6. The Destroyer
7. Heimdall

Here's what I'm not liking at the moment:

1. Natalie Portman .... she's extremely one note
2. Asgard .... too much reliance on sets, some looked like a P-Diddy video
3. Scene with Thor, Loki, Sif, Warriors Three all walking .... cheesy Reservoir Dogs knock off
4. Frost Giants .... not what I expected at all, come off looking a little cheap too
5. New Mexico location for the Earth portion of the film
6. Kat Dennings ..... playing her typical quipping self and it's annoying

Again it's early ..... we're still about 10 months away from the film's release with a lot of post-production work to be done. I am very interested to see how the fight/action scenes turn out as that is not exactly Branaugh's specialty. We're also going to need to see far more lightening and magic effects.

Wow, some of your complaints are a little odd. I mean, you just hate all of New Mexico?

Kirkman himself was like, "Since it's a zombie movie that never ends, adapting it into a movie would kind of make no sense..."

how else woudl you do asgard if not for sets unless you wanted it half CGI/half set which i think they did

Excellent trailer. I especially liked the robot at the end. My confidence in this movie is much higher now.

I thought Asgard looked phenomenal. Those shots with the camera panning around, showing us Asgard in all its splendor, were really well done. I liked little touches like the two moons in one scene. Definitely tells us that this is an otherworldly place.

saw the comic con trailer earlier today. Man it looked pretty good. Everything for thor is shaping up well i think. Cant wait for more stuff in the coming months.
