So I've been following IMDB ratings for each new Super Hero movie that comes out, and I've created a list that ranks them form best to worst which I've had just sitting on my computer that I had planned to share on here in case anyone besides me finds this kind of thing interesting.
However, in the Iron Man forum there's a thread for people to predict where that movie will fall as far as how the movie will fare compared to others which inspired me to try something new. So I took all of the movies Jon Favreau has directed up to this point, averaged them and came up with a projected rating for Iron Man. Non content with stopping there, I did the same for any new movie I could think of.
I present that list now, with a few rules that I should get out of the way first:
1.) Only movies made Since the first Blade are counted, as I don't want the list to be too bogged down.
2.) Only movies from either DC or Marvel are counted, and only movies featuring characters from regular comic book continuity are counted (no Sin City, or V for Vendetta or anything)
3.) if two or more movies have the same rating, then whichever has the highest Rotten Tomatoes rating is placed highest.
4.)Finally, as far as future releases go. The rating is obviously not set in stone or anything, but most directors tend to be consistent in their quality. So while the ratings won't be exact, I'm willing to bet good money that most of these movies actual ratings will be +/- about .5 points from the projected ones.
