Whitney has a laugh track and therefore deemed unwatchable. At least by my standards

Just read the news. There are no words that can express how I am feeling, so I will just post this...

I'm watching How I Met Your Mother and Todd and the janitor who tries to recruit Troy are both on it right now. And they showed a commerical for COMMUNITY coffee. The universe officially hates me.

Community got cancelled?

Hiatus.
They're still writing episodes and filming them thankfully. Apparently all 22 episodes will be filmed, and we'll get them on DVD. That will give us 71 episodes and maybe Sony and NBC can work out a deal that would give us another 13-22 episodes so a syndication deal could be worked out for some young skewing cable net.

The thing is it was up against American Idol so NBC isn't going to launch a new show in that slot, so it served it's purpose while NBC tried to get their **** together. And they haven't gotten their **** together. The Office is hemorrhaging, Whitney and Up All Night have done enough to stay alive on NBC. So now 30 Rock is making their 9th timeslot change to start their 6th season. Community should've been moved last season to after Parks and Rec when NBC did that 3 hour comedy block.

Oh well. But now that Harmon & Co. know they're is a very good chance the last 9 episodes they write could be the last they'll go all out and use the opportunity to go out on top.

The numbers for the show sucks, but NBC didn't do anything to improve it. They didn't bring in new viewers with their new shows, they lost viewers and they didn't move it to a a new night or timelsot.

Parks & Rec was on hiatus because of Amy Poehler's pregnancy and now 30 Rock is back because Tina Fey had a baby.

Our only hope is Rock Center craters on Wednesday and NBC tries Community with a new comedy at 9/8c after Whitney/Chelsea.

I've never seen a Community or P&R ad ever on NBC other than during each other. They want their two great shows to fail, while they ****ed out Office, 30 Rock Bottom any Chealsea Lately ****e written show...

for what, 3 episodes...

Parks and Rec was criminally underaired last year and so now is Community.

I don't get how the two best (and only funny) shows on tv are getting f-ed?

Low Ratings = The little amount of smart people in America (it seems)

High Ratings = All of the idiots who can mindlessly watch Two & A Half Men...

Community will be back to finish the rest of the season. Their season order wasn't cut short or anything.

How, though? Will they be airing two Community's every night in May and June...

Plus, this basically assures NothingButC**** won't renew us for a season 4.

I think 30 Rock's episode order is shorter than 22 episodes so maybe they will air until March and Community can come back around April?

30 Rock will probably have 22 episodes, NBC could be jerks and do it for Parks and Rec because of their ratings.

Up All Night could bomb, they've dropped below 5 million viewers and it really isn't funny. It's amusing, likeable and cute but they haven't found their footing like Parks & Rec, 30 Rock and Community did after 7-8 episodes.

So that could fail and open a spot for Community. They'll have 12 episodes to air sometime in 2012.

This move looks to be one last gasp to save Up All Night and Whitney. At this point Community will never turn into a 'hit' show, but those shows could, so Community gets benched but not canceled.

However if they do fail with their new timeslots, I could see Community staying alive and coming back simply because it so close to a decent syndication episode number. Four seasons and then NBC can pull the plug. It also has to deal with 30 Rock and The Office getting more expensive to produce and with fewer viewers.

I hope NBC checks their twitter feed or searches #Community, to see how much they failed today...

From Damon Lindelof's twitter:

it happens, nbc loves to stand behind their failures. so Whitney isnt going anyplace, shame it has to kill community for it to survive.

I just started watching Community, this sucks. The whole Thursday line-up was perfect IMO, I'm one of the 5 people who actually likes Whitney.

I'm going to stage my death to look like a suicide caused by the unjust benching of Community. I'm gonna get that show back on the air!

It does suck, but it doesn't mean the show's getting cancelled. Is it a possibility? Of course, but it's always been a possibility. Granted, NBC's move sucks and it may increase that possibility, but I will not give up hope. This show deserves that much.

This is such BS. :cmad:
Community and It's Always Sunny are the two funniest shows on television.

Sucks hearing about it but at least we know they're not cutting down the episodes count, not that'd be worse. I just hope it isn't too long until it returns.

It's not gone. I have faith it will get renewed for a fourth season. This is bad news, but I'm confident they will allow them to finish telling the 4 year story as planned.
