The Dark Knight Concerns about TDK

not everyone is a Nolan fane and Nolan Drone, Scarecrow should have kept his mask on and had a better costume to go with the mask, Batman's suit should have been a dark grey and black, the Batmobile is missing that Bat-style, Alfred looked the same age when Bruce was 30 as he was when he was 8. But they had Gordon look a bit different when Bruce was a child, also Gordon at leats looked like the comic book character, would it have killed them to put a moustache on alfred, why just have one character accurately done, like Loeb, he's an old white man, Flass is a blonde ex navy seal, in shape.

"Meh" x 453.

:batty: I have many concerns about this film. BATMAN is very important to me. He is my favorite Comic Book Super Hero of all time. And, I don't want to see him and his supporting cast and, rogues gallery portrayed the wrong way.

I don't care what those newcomers who aren't real fans have to say about realism and it doesn't have to be a direct translation from the comic book. Well it does have to be a direct translation from the comic book, that is where he comes from and that is who and, what Batman is, also he is in a comic book worl, if I want to see reality I'll watch the news.

Oh, so you're the true fan and the new ones are false, right?
And you found BB to be "documentary" kind of realistic?
And whoever likes BB is a Nolan drone?
And you are a free man of free will?
And your opinion is higher than others'?
Am I getting this right?

it was a bad post. i mean it's cool if he prefers the burton movies. but his arguments weren't the best.

I, too, have no problem if he prefers the Burton movies. He just tried to pass as an expert and call the others whatever it is he called them, just because they/ I/ we disagree.
Like Obi Wan in Episode 2 said: "I hate it when he does that".:woot:

yeah. i mean, it was a long rant with little value. i didn't wanna rip the guy in my initial response. but i think he knows he didn't have much of an argument, because he never defended his arguments. but this IS a forum, and an open forum encourages free speech. so he is welcome to come back tomorrow and write an even longer book about how he hates the nolan approach to batman. and that's cool.

so you defend the prequel trilogy? but you can't possibly prefer it to the original.

Agreed. He can write 5 pages of Nolan-hating posts, I don't care. But when and if he calls others drones, that's where I will respond.
As for your question: Yes and yes.

Not really, no. In reality, I can make you a full list of bad things (nitpicky or not) in both Trilogies. Do you know what the outcome will be? The number of faults in both Trilogies will be EXACTLY the same. And then, I will tell you that overall, the PT just clicked more for me.

aso. i've always liked jedi, but as i got older i prefer empire. it's the better flick. the prequels are cool. i hate little kid anakin. but i did find myself thoroughly entertained by sith. that was my favorite of the prequels.

Mine, too. I also hate kid Anakin, but only because I hate all kids in action films (who do something that hurts in any way a grown-up enemy). Out of all kids in films, though, he's the less annoying IMO. I never got to fully embrace RotJ because of the Ewoks. Hated them even as a kid. Thank god for the uber-powerful Vader/ Luke/ Emperor subplot, or the movie would've been the Spiderman 3 of the Trilogy (in a way, it still was, in a VERY small way).
But the PT has more sotry, feels more like a cohered Trilogy that "The merry adventures of the Millenium Falcon crew", politics, intrigue a great love story (apart from some horrrendous lines Anakin had), much more interesting characters (I despise Chewie and Lando and the way Bob Fett was built up and "died"). It's just the better Trilogy for me.

that's cool. i mean, it was more coherent, as it was actually designed as a trilogy, and not built into one. i like lando though. i love han. and as far as jedi is concerned, the ewoks are terrible. but when i was a kid i'd always fall asleep half way through, and the first act of jedi is super awesome...but for the record, boba fett didn't die. the sarlaac couldn't digest his armor, so he escaped and built the slave II, and continued on with his bounty hunting ways.

Yep, that's why I said "died". I have all of his EU adventures, including the most magical moment of all when he and Han fight side by side in their ships (Unifying Force, last of the New Jedi Order Books, heretical but magnificent storyline IMO).

cool. i never read the comics or anything. although they always seemed cool. i just happened to know boba didn't die.

You drone!

I jest, I jest. :woot:

Cool right back at ya. Most of the EU is good, some is crap, but overall it's a great continuation.

Uh oh don't talk about Star Wars, you won't like me when I ***** about star wars.

Agreed that it looked kind of funny the way Maguires lips vibrate in that shot, but I wasn't laughing when seeing it in theater! It's an absolutely heartbreaking scene, and Maguire plays absolutely fantastic in that sequence! Despite him looking funny, does not mean that it's bad acting - just funny looking. All I see there, is a heartbroke geeky Peter Parker who's loosing his best friend, nothing more! Had it been bad acting would've been another thing, but it's not, quite the opposit!

really? cause it reminds me of the 10 bucks I spend on a ticket and the 5 hours of my life watching SM3

The only gag line i didn't like in BB was the nice ride line, i don't think i would have minded it in another scene, but it was a farced joke during a very climactic and well made suspenseful scene... too Michael Bayish for me.

see, i don't think it's bad acting. some people are ugly when they cry. tobey is one of those people. but when he cries it does detract from the scene for me, because it's a distraction. still an emotional scene, but it would have been moreso if he wasn't so ugly.
