Constantine General Discussion Thread - Part 1

IF you're going to introduce the show to a newbie, Cerone strongly recommends last week's episode as a perfect introduction
 
So the show is taking a "Fall Break", it's not running the remaining episodes straight through?

There's no way they don't air all 13 produced episodes, unless the ratings absolutely crater down under .5 or something. After the fall break there should be four more episodes, then an official confirmation of the cancellation.

I love this quote from TVBTN:

Describes a certain subset of fans on this board to a tee.
 
What delusion? This is a good show no it's not the best show on TV but there's very few shows that are.

Looking over the episodes I don't see a Part 1.

More like everyone else put out the typo. Unlike them, I (or Sawyer) will set up the episode discussion thread to be stricly together rather than seperately

I am a new poster but I have been reading the Constantine threads since the beginning and I don't honestly get your angle and I am surprised you haven't been banned yet because you seem to get off on irritating posters who genuinely like the show.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't know you and you may be a fan of the show/Constantine in general, but all your posts indicate that you are enjoying the fact that the show is likely (who knows) to be cancelled. You seem to be playing the same record all the time. Yes, we all get it and I am pretty much sceptical about it being renewed too, which is a damn shame because it's a good show. And if it gets cancelled you can be all like "told you so" and etc.

But you need to change the tune and stop irritating other posters, you have already mentioned its likely to be cancelled. We get it. Now are you an actual fan of the show? Or do you honestly get enjoyment because people are enjoying the show and you get off on wanting to see them disappointed? If so, you need to re-evaluate your life goals mate. I don't want this post to sound offensive, but do you not realise you are annoying other posters with the same drivel you are posting constantly? That's why you are on ignore from a fair few posters. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you are a fan, I hope so. Just try change the record for a bit, otherwise if you are going to continue posting the same thing all the time, why haven't the mods removed you from the boards as you are not contributing anything to the forum apart to piss off genuine fans of the show?

Anyways, no more discussion about you. Loved this week's episode, I felt if you're new to Constantine, you should definitely watch this episode. I really wish it was slightly darker in tone though.

For the twentieth time, I am a fan of the show.

That has literally zero to do with the discussion at hand. All I'm doing is repeatedly smacking down delusional nonsense from a few posters (but especially one in particular).

A 0.80 for this week, and it may indeed adjust down due to the Pac 12 Championship game.

Go to any TV ratings discussion that isn't on a fan forum, and you'll find that my evaluation of Constantine's prospects is, by far, the prevailing opinion. It's only people on this forum who really think there's a chance that Constantine will make history and become the first show EVER in its circumstances to get renewed for another season.

I'm only correcting nonsense that other posters write first. If you don't want to read my posts telling you Constantine is going to be cancelled, tell people like Jason Kane that repeating the same nonsense over and over isn't an argument.

The ratings system isn't quite dead yet, but content is already eclipsing the old models of sustainability and the impact on long-term revenue.

I'm glad you getting you're attention here because the past (meaning yesterday) is the opposite of the prologue in this case. Cheers.
 
The future of Constantine is bleak that much is certain and I am sad about that because with each passing episode the show gets better and better. My hope is that one of two things will happen. The first is NBC gives it a chance and lets it ride a full season and hope the ratings go up and thus securing a second season. The second is that if it does get cancelled that Netflix or perhaps another network buys it out and put it back on the air.

We have up to episode 15 in our hands, and we wish you guys could see what a riot that would have been. That's going to get reworked for season two. I got contracted for 13 episodes. I didn't get contracted for 15, 19 or 20. The funny thing is, everybody got scared. "They are canceling Constantine." Well, according to my contract, I was only scheduled for 13. According to my timeslot, I knew I was going to have January and February and so on free. The true diehard fans got really scared saying, "Oh, my God. What happened?"

It's like, "Wait a minute. There are other series that started off a little slow, trying to see what they were doing." You see our episodes and the money going into those graphics and CG. When you are spending a pretty dime making these graphics look like you are going to the movies, it adds up.

That isn't any kind of confirmation. They will be reworked for S2 if there is a S2. And obviously NBC told them to write some more scripts in case they picked it up for more episodes and then they decided not to. The show could go 50/50.

And of course he was only scheduled for 13 since most new shows are.

Still, how the millions and demo will look between this week and post Christmas Break (and NBC's decision next month) is up to us and the spirit of John's ancestor Lady Johanna Constantine
