I'll forever hate Peter Milligan for ****ing up the book and in turn have yet to forgive Karen (Berger) and Shelly (Bond) for not reminding him to write like a professional and not a amateur but seeing as the 3 headed kraken of Didio/Lee/Johns weakened Vertigo it was out of the two's hands.

For our sake let's pray Goyer's not a fan of that run and ignore everything from it as possible.

Goyer had his letter published in the Swamp Thing comics.

Glad to hear Goyer saying the best comic writers in the business wrote Constantine in Hellblazer for 25 years and they would be idiots not to use it as their source material.

That new ending to the pilot episode sounds hilariously bad

I agree with the reviewers assessment of the pilot.

That ending sounds terrible. But I agree on some of the points of that review regardless of what he/she may think I enjoyed the leaked pilot. So changing a couple of scenes I doubt would change my viewing pleasure so much that it becomes terrible.

If its as bad as it sounds then its 2nd or 3rd episodes better be amazing or this show isnt going to be long for the world.

Some shows take a while to find their groove. I think the question will be is there enough in the early shows where they are finding their footing to keep people coming back?

The real key to the show should be the character Constantine himself. Everyone who read Hellblazer knows how well dynamic, complex and interesting the character can be.

If Goyer and co manage to get the character on screen and find the right tone then they will be fine.

The fact they have to keep the show more network friendly and the social issues of the comics are off the table means they have to be very clever to make this show stand out from the dozens of other supernatural/horror TV shows around.

If the show ends up being a failure, i hope Hellblazer is one day given a second chance in a more fitting channel.
