For some reason I could never remember which comic was my first to ever read. I remember just jumping into it one day, and it was around 1990 when I started. Seems to me it might have been this Green Goblin issue.

I know it was one of my firsts.

Funny, I started one month later than you then. I got that Web of Spiderman I mentioned before, and liked it so much that I went to the store and bought two more spiderman comics. One was Amazing Spiderman 351 (with Nova vs Tri-Sentinel), and the other was the issue right after yours, issue 181. Child Within is still to this day one of my alltime favorate stories in any media.

How do you search for that? I've wondered that for a good while, but I have never been able to figure out how you search for post counts in a thread.

In your User CP, on the right side it has a number of posts in it beside each thread. Just click on the number (it's a link to the post count).

If it wasn't for Contest of Marvels, it would take me over 5 years to get a big avatar. I'm finally nearing 3,000. I see some of these guys who've been doing this since 2001 with 40,000 posts. Damn, I don't have that much to say about comics.

Well, I don't see us starting Season 2 off right away. Getting ready for next season will involve discussing what worked and what didn't...recruiting new players....considering who we want and don't want...getting the brackets up and ready. That's probably going to be about a month's wait. I think after being away for a month is going to get a lot of people's interest back up. (I liken it to Sparta with his tournament thread. He needed a break by having others help out...now, he's starting to realize that he's missing being in action.) I'll be happy for the break, too; but, when it all starts again, I'll be just as jacked as when Season 1 started.

You might be right, but I think it might take longer than a month to get things organized. Plus there is the time for participants to choose their characters and the drafting process and such so it might be a couple of months before we get that all straightened out.

Plus should there be an application this time (like the ever growing RPG's)?

Yeah, I had a hard time with my post count until I joined the DTL prior to this. Games like that one and this one really help with the post count and keeps you from spamming (well, beside general conversation in discussion thread). If not for the DTL and CoM I doubt that I'd have half the posts I currently have.

You'd be surprised. Especially when a movie of your favorite character is coming out....

I started with about 500-600 when this competition began, so you know how far I've gone.

Since I brought up the two doctors possibly facing off next round, here are two early issues I bought when they came out that always reminds me of them. Dr. Doom I had read a few times before, but he actually caught my interest in the double-sized issue of Iron Man:

Then, I got the Dr. Strange comic for some time during my first phase of collecting comics as a kid...but, it didn't really do it for me. The issues that stood out the most, though, involved Dr. Strange deciding to take out all vampires by going after the main host, Dracula:

Child within is one of my favorites too but I have never read the first issue. I can never seem to find it any of the comic stores and I don't feel like buying it by itself.....

I sat down at my computer with my little carton of Premium Homemade Icecream Peanut Butter N' Chip icecream. I opened it with a smile and spun the spoon in my fingers. Then came the terrifying beast, the horrible creature who would aim to claim my treasure!!

When the fowl beast smiled with those big puppy dog eyes, I had no other choice, I fell under it's vial spell. I gave her a bite, and soon we were sharing, one for me and one for her. She asked for a cookie, and we have no cookies. Her sad eyes warrented some type of relief, and so I handed my small carton of Peanut Butter N' Chip icecream, and she took it to her dark layer (also known as the carpet in front of the big screan tv). Now she sits with icecream running down her shirt and legs. And alas, the papa bear has fallen victom to the cute monster he begat. The horror,.. the horror

Well, I hope I survive to be in the final two. The challenge that started today for the last three of us was to e-mail Tuki every half hour starting at 5:00 his time until two of us had missed an e-mail. Well, I was going to e-mail, but then my daughter (kid #2) needed a bottle, and while feeding her I lost track of time. So I didn't even get one e-mail sent. That sucks. Whoever wins this challenge gets to pick who goes with them to the finals, and the three of us who are left have been allies from day one, so I don't know who will be taken.

One of my favorite Avengers. I had her on my original list; but, obviously, someone else got her. I always remember her from the following storyline involving the Black Knight. This is the stuff I loved about Avengers, and frankly, it's stuff that is sorely missing from New Avengers.

Now that is my all time favorate Avengers story, the whole Proctor thing was great. The last part of it, 375, was my first issue, and I liked that issue so much that I went out and bought the run from 344 I think up, the whole saga. I actually haven't really gotten into Avengers since until Disassembled, and now I'm liking it again. (as odd as that is)

Also, in regards to Season 2. I've decided to sit out as a participant, and only co-run it alongside Phaed (and working closely with POWdER). If we are low on participants then I'll participate, but otherwise I'm just a boss. This is good as well, as with Phaed still playing, I can make decisions that he may not feel comfortable making.

I'll still be heavy in the plannings of Season 2, and the runnings of it, but I just won't be debating and such.... unless I randomly change my mind, but I doubt it

Yeah I have been thinking about some rules to put in for next season that would make things work more smoothly...I have some good ideas to pitch to you and Phaed so we will have to go to messanger or something like that and discuss them.
