People keep going on about the guy being a cop, he is also a father and I don't know how many here even understand how that changes things for a man.

He's a father who abused his position as a cop.

Badge or no badge you have no right to touch someone just because your daughter is sleeping with them.

The cop needs to grow up. He wasn't given a badge and gun to fulfill personal revenge fantasies.

14 year old girls have sex all the time. Most fathers have enough self control to keep their hands to themselves.

Yes it is, he's underage, but the fact you find it more disturbing that a Dad is looking out for his daughter than the fact a bunch of 14 year olds are having sex means I'm not surprised.

The fathers most likely don't know, I doubt most are "Hey honey, got your condoms with you?" No, It's not something that fathers just accept about their underage daughters, I can assure you.

Even if both people were 18, the cop still would have been handled just the same. The only difference is the two teens would not be charge, and the boy could file suit rather than the parents.

There is a massive difference in a 14 year old and an 18 year old in the eyes of a father, plus how exactly would he pretend to arrest a guy for having sex over the age of consent?

You act like the boy raped the girl. The girl is only months younger than the boy and she was a willing participant.

The way it seemed to me, when I was a teen, was the idea of "out of sight, out of mind."


If two 16-year-old kids have been dating for over three month, and the father goes to bed every night thinking his little pumpkin hasn't flash her tots, or let the young man seek other situations in. . . said father is naive.

Bottom line. Cop is wrong. Kids should be better attended to. The boy should be given a proper talking, and the girl needs a lesson in how to properly tease until college.

It's not about being naive, if he doesn't know for sure anything is going on then what can he do or say? but when he knows for sure he is going to react and not simply brush it off.

I have never once justified what he did. I think it was dumb in modern day USA to try anything like he did as lawsuits are like a sport.
