For those that have read, Fury's Big Week:
They reveal that SHIELD has Stern. Do they show a pic of him, and does he look like The Leader?
But the order they take place in is:
2. Iron Man
3. The Incredible Hulk
4. Iron Man 2
Now that I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if someone made one big supercut of the films in this order...

I need to get 'Furys Big Week'.

The Young readers Novel at Walmart has it laid out like that. There isn't every single detail in the book but that is how they laid it out. Not ALL the details are in the novel, just the important events because the novel literally goes from event to event, and some events overlap or are happening all at the same time. You missed a big chunk of TIH. Bottle plant incident, the campus fight, etc. That's somewhere around IM2.
I agree watching Cap last makes the most sense, as it serves as one big flashback sequence.
I Thought they went in this order. That's the production order.
If you want the chronological order:
Captain America
Iron Man
Iron Man 2
Incredible Hulk
Thor
almost the same with me although I tend to include the one-shotsI watch them:
Captain America (as most people say,it's set mostly in the 40's,so it's good a place to start. But also, you meet Howard Stark, who is a cool foreshadowing of Tony.)
Iron Man (another reason I put this after Cap is Fury's line "You think you're the only superhero in the world?" so obviously he's met Cap at this point)
Iron Man 2 (it's the natural progression, plus TIH and Thor both begin halfway through this.)
Thor (since IM 2 has a lead in tag to this one,I let this one go next, but either way works)
TIH (Tony is in the "after credits" tag as Fury's consultant,so obviously it's set after IM2)
Avengers
