The Dark Knight Costume Changes BOF!!!

I guess it makes sense that, after using a military prototype as a costume, Batman goes for something sleekier and more adapted to his agility. I´m cool with the BB costume, but I´d like to see something a little more Spider-Man-like.

If I'm not mistaken I think they tried that route during early production for Begins, but it didn't work out.....

Nice - subtle changes are realistic and necessary.

Can't wait to see it..........

Maybe they just didn't have the time and the expertise at that point. Probably accounts for why after 17 years Bale's costume was essential an updated version of Keaton's.

Its sounds like now they have a clear idea on how to go about designing this costume.

It's possible.....if you remember from the BOF set visits regarding the costume, the guy said they were finding new methods and materials all the time. He then said that some of these materials and methods they had found just weren't found in time to be incorporated into the Begins suit...

So maybe this time they will be able to.....

And they will be here again..

I love this place..there is not a group of people on this planet i would rather discuss this movie with.

You know, when I first saw Bale in the new costume, I have to say I was somewhat dissappointed. Not that it didn't look like Batman, it just seemed like more of the same and I feared that may have been indicative of the entire production.

Well the movie blew me away and quite overshadowed my desire for "something different" as a new Bat suit.

Now if Nolan can give us that "something different, something better, something cooler" in the suit to go along with the sequel that will raise the bar from BB, I don't know if I'll be able to contain myself.

Should be interesting to see the new suit. If they do change it I hope they at least comment on it in the movie.

I guess the anticipation for a bat-suit has started again, i for one am very happy, the suit needs a minor tweaking. Maybe this way nolan wont have the camera be so shaky during fights.

.....and if they throw in a Batman whose detective skills rival those of Sherlocke Holmes...something we've yet to see on film, but is a cornerstone of the character, well I'ld buy that for a dollar!

Fox: Say, Jim Whoo! That's a bad new outfit! Whoo!

Batman: The name's Bru...I mean Batman!

I was thinking that too. During production the suit probably looked like ****te during the fighting.

Nolan probably said, "Damn, now what?' We don't have time to make a better one. Ah, just shake the camera around, I'll just makeup some b.s. about how it makes him seem more vicious or something. Dammit!"

dude, i hope so! time to actually show The Batman kicking some criminal ass!

I like hearing this news if true and it would make sense.

The costume NEEDS to be lighter in weight and look less rubbery. I want Bale to be more comfortable wearing the suit.....and also I want him to feel more flexible and mobile during fight scenes or any action scenes. The BEGINS suit was a first step....now they can make even more improvements.

I want Dent casting info Jett....damn you! J/K

I've seen this suggested and I'll agree that it'll be cool if we saw the BB suit on display, like the start of his trophy collection or something.

well duh, how is this a suprise?

I mean there has been a new bat suit for every bat film, I thought this was common knowledge, hell even Darth Vader's costume was resculpted for every individual film...

That sounds amazing man so the costume will be light *coughs* grey *coughs* and it will have a sleeker design more like armour then rubber, Oh hell yea!!!! I already know where they going with this can't wait but with patience the young man shall be satisfyed.

not lighter in color...but i'm sure it meant lighter in weight....

Same here. The fIrst time I saw Bale in the suit for BB it was in USATODAY and for some reason the suit looked all brown and not black. I thought it must have been a problem with the lighting for the suit to look lke that but was dissapointed nonetheless.

However, in later pictures it seem to have that same brownish tint, and I was really getting upset. So I went in with the lowest expectations of how the BAtsuit would look for the movie.

But when I saw it on the big screen, during the movie it looked Great and the color was jet black and it came off as more fearsome than any of the other bat suits for any of the other movies.

So from that moment on I decided not to judge these suits till I see them on the big screen. :)

Unfortunately the Superman suit for "Returns" look just as bad on the big screen as it did in the picturess I saw in USATODAY. :down

I think it'll be essentially the same suit, only without those horrible sculpted muscles. Which is a great move IMO.

Begins is such a fantastic films I actually consider the costume a minor flaw. Batman's costume is very difficult to translate onscreen because he doesn't have super powers and wouldn't get away with tights. Still I think that they can do alot better than what we got in Begins and would welcome changes. I hope that they do ditch the ruber look and try something new.

I really don't mind the shorts!
