I'm glad they had it turn out to be Silas with Bonnie too, since I was wondering why Shane would've come, grabbed Bonnie and basically say "Oh hai, Jeremy, **** you" and take off.

Makes more sense to me for Silas to snatch her on his way out.

so the shane that was with bonnie was silas all along? i guess he lied about having no magic.

it would be awesome if bonnie does drop the veil. dealing with all the people they've killed in season 5 would be interesting.

also, vaughn mentioned that hayley is in new orleans, so i guess klaus heads there to question her on katherines whereabouts.

As usual everything is ten times more relevant when it happens to poor old Elena Gilbert, and I don't mean in the way that she's the main character. I mean the world has to stop to deal with the issue and pretty much attempt to break the rules of the universe to reverse it for her.

Luckily the vampire cure didn't exist when poor Caroline was turned. Emotions didn't need be turned off when almost everyone else lost their loved ones. They're trying to tell a story, but in doing so they are making me hate this character.

Secondly, they ask her if she really wants to burn down her house, you know this big emotional question that she will have to live with forever. What a perfect question to ask someone that just had their emotions turned off.

The one thing I am digging right now is the Catherine connection. They're needs to be hell to pay.

They have been saying from the beginning that vampyrism increases certain personality traits in those who are turned depending on the person. Elena was already emotionally damaged and a very emotional human. When she was turned her emptions were increased ten fold. Its been said over and over all season including in this episode that her emotions were too much and that she feels more than most. So shutting off her emotions has been a long time coming. Tho I do agree Caroline doesnt seem to have any crazy traits, but Caroline was a normal human turned vampire. Elena was a supernatural doppelganger turned vampire. Elena isnt like the others. Its been established from the beginning so its not like they are breaking or bending this show's rules.

Not surprising...

The CW’s supernatural drama delivered a higher rating in the valuable adults 18-49 demographic than either NBC’s comedies or ABC’s drama in the 8 p.m. hour. It’s not that TVD’s numbers were particularly high — with 2.9 million viewers and a 1.3 rating, the show was up 30 percent in the demo from last week, yet still within its usual performance range. But that was still enough to top the hourly average of Community plus Parks and Recreation on NBC, as well as the second week of Zero Hour on ABC. The latter dropped 21 percent from its premiere to a 1.1 rating (think we’re about one week from being able to use a “Zero Hour gets zero rating” headline).

Good for the show, but kinda pisses me off about Parks and Rec. It was Ben and Leslie's wedding, for **** sake! :argh:

I'm curious to see how much of a difference there will be between turned off Elena and Catherine. Especially if the two have scenes together.

caroline is more level headed because she embraced her vampirism, elena did not.

Well Katherine is 500 years turned of where as Elena is 5 minutes turned off. Should be a huge difference, Elena will seem like a ***** while Katherine is just an uninhibited hurricane of death.

Elena will be without emotions, but I think she'll still have something of a moral compass. If she slips up or thinks she may be going too far, she'll pull back and stop herself, whereas with her emotions intact, she'd turn into a sobbing mess and begin to hate herself.

Katherine has no such compass.

Thanks for rephrasing what I said Sawyer. It was really needed. :o

I did indeed rephrase what you said, and yes, I do believe it was necessary. :o

His contract is done so he is GONE.Which makes how he was written out kinda lame to me.

Uhh... no.

McQueen is sure to be done, but I've heard nothing about Trevino.

I'm sorry, but that Matt character just won first prize for worst crying ever. Had to be said.

Uh, no.

5. Tyler remains gone, for now. It was absolutely heartbreaking to listen to Caroline plead with Tyler to get in touch while he ignores her calls. He promised to forget about her if they couldn't find a way to get rid of Klaus -- not ignore her immediately and stop trying to find a way within 24 hours. Bummer. I do have a little good news for Forwood shippers, though. The outcry over Michael Trevino's understated, anti-climactic exit seems to have had an impact on the writers of the show. They've changed their minds! I can reveal that he will be back to share one more pivotal moment with Caroline this season. Your voices have been heard!

I found it pretty realistic. Felt like real crying, not TV crying.

From what I've heard. At least for the time being.

So Jeremy isn't coming back at all?

Not unless it's as a vision or a ghost of some kind. His body is burned to a crisp, and before that it was stated in pretty much every possible way, from Meredith pointing out the body was past rigamortis to the other vampires smelling his body decomposing, that he was dead, dead, DEAD.

Unless Silas really is on the level about breaking the barrier between the two worlds, and it happens, and Jeremy crosses over back to the living.

Come to think about it, I wonder if the show will use this as a way to bring back the two dead Originals (for the spin-off). Also, I wonder if whatever it was that had Kol so spooked about Silas coming back is actually something that's on the other side that would come through should Silas break down the barrier. Perhaps, something older and scarier than an Original?

Well I mean Micheal coming back was my first thought. I also though about the two oriental vamps from season two, Tyler's dad would be interesting, the vamp that Maggie on TWD played, any original that had died thus far, Vicki, first hunter we met. Crazy possibilities if its followed through with. Hell you could even bring back Elena's aunt and Rick.

I'd be more excited about more Esther returning than anyone.

Well, he was never anything other than human was he?
