I know there is a thread about this, but I thought we needed a new one, seeing as how the old one was based on a preview from another one, and this one is based on the real thing.

If you hate Joe Q., then here's all the more reason to hate him:

I had a million big surprises already planned for MCW. There's scenes coming up and twists on characters that will blow you away, I promise, but this one was entirely Joe Q. The idea worked well with the concept and, to be honest, I'd have had him on the other side, but the rationale they had was a good one and so I came up with the TV camera way of doing it. But the blame for this one lies with Joe essentially

I was hoping to get back into 616 Spidey after the Civil War & once the Iron Spidey suit is scrapped...I don't think I'll bloody bother at all now.

I post regularly on the Millarworld forums, and I heard what I needed to hear from Marl Millar. It was ALL Joe Q. I figured as much anyway, but at least that means I don't have to drop Ultimates 2. I will be dropping alot of other freakin' books, though.

I think I'll probably just be reading the following Marvel books, now:

-Ultimates 2
-Ultimate Spider-Man
-Ultimate X-Men
-Punisher
-Daredevil
-Runaways
-Spider-Girl (until it ends in 2 months)
-Sensational Spider-Man (until "feral" ends)
-Civil War (I'm still waiting to see Spidey jam the Iron Spider suit up IM's ass)


This means I'm dropping roughly 14 books. My wife will try to talk me out of it, no doubt, but it must be done. I will also personally castrate anyone who buys any book written by or drawn by Joe Q...especially DD: Father.

I know people are going to hate me for this, but I actually like the idea. Spidey hasn't had really good books in a while and this can lead to alot of interesting stories. I'll save judgement for after we see what comes of this.

i think it will be retconned or is just a pic used for a reaction purpose...kinda like doom picking up thor's hammer....marvel is in the business of misleading nowadays, it'll probably end up being a dream sequence...

I just hope they retcon this. I don't care how lame the retcon is, just do it because this cannot be permanent.

All Spidey's friends and foes cannot know who he really is forever. It just kills so many possible angles to future stories.

you mean half of the appeal of venom, heck i hope his new powers now also mean that venom is detected via spider sense....

that bum needs to get sent back to being a b list villain...


well if spidey stays an avenger and his wife and aunt are under protection, i can't see the harm of his indentity being known in all fairness, since the reason it was underwraps was to protect his loved ones and they are pretty much in a decent place right now.

He's a super-hero that has a secret identity so that they can maintain a normal life outside of being Spider-man, this just breaks away from the very reason for why Spider-man is so great.

When villains learn of his identity, it is sometimes great, because the character is put in dangerous situations but when everyone knows, that is just taking the piss!

I'd like to see the unveiling of his identity split the city of New York in two. You have those who hate spiderman for the damage and **** that happens when he gets into fights and those who love him because he saved them or someone they know.

Both Eddie Brock & Norman Osborn have lost HUGE leverage on Spidey due to this suddern change of heart by Peter. No longer can either of them threaten him with the fear of outting him to the public. But at the same time, all of his villains are now on an equal playing field. EVERYONE will know now.

Oh yeah, & since when the hell has Venom EVER been a B lister?!?
