She was also in The Office for a couple of seasons.

She does comedy mostly, her most famous role to date is on Parks and Recreation.
I hope there's more depth to this character than I've seen. Not a comic reader, but I've seen some of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Admittedly a kid's show but all Wasp was was an optimistic cheerleader whose powers did jack-**** to any villains at any point. It was a pretty lame character in my opinion.

it was a cartoon aimed squarely at children. it's not anyone on the show was fleshed out, all that well. i'd stick to the comic book portrayal.![]()
Really? I really liked Jan's portrayal in EMH. It's OK for women to be portrayed as bubbly optimistic types. The problem though is that that has typically been shorthand for the "dumb chick" stereotype in film and TV. Many women are bubbly optimistic types AND smart AND strong, etc. Nothing inherently wrong with said character trait.
but can you think of any live-action character with those qualities that wasn't hated by the audience?
Oh, completely agreed. That's what I liked about A:EMH's portrayal of Wasp. The problem is that Hollywood mostly sees those character traits as synonymous with "dumb". Give me a Wasp in Ant-Man (and beyond) that's similar, personality-wise, to the A:EMH Wasp, without being a moron, and I'll be really happy. Basically, give us the bubbly without the bubblehead!Besides, I didn't find her to be particularly "dumb" on EMH anyway.
Trillian, most of the time. Until she found out Earth was destroyed. And even then...but can you think of any live-action character with those qualities that wasn't hated by the audience?
Just off the top of my head, the Legally Blonde films. In fact, any movie with Reese Witherspoon, for the most part.

I hope Rashida Jones is still up for Wasp because Paul Rudd confirmed recently that he is not Ant Man
Maybe its just because I want to see her in a Marvel movie universe film, or because I like her,
but I would like to see Rosario Dawson as Janet:

i feel as if she'd be more believable as someone into fashion (since i know that she has a fashion line).
