Michelle Pfeiffer is Janet van Dyne/The Wasp I

I think this is Janet!

Yep! But apparently this is flashback in Argentina that was supposed to open the film, but the opening was recently reshot

I’m starting to think she either doesn’t have a big a part as we want or she’s involved in some twist like Kurt Russell in Guardians 2. Either one would be disappointing.

I think some are forgetting this is the first movie that Hope is Wasp. That was the main focus of both trailers and it should be. Janet is just as old as Hank now and she isn't going to be suiting up helping in A4. I expect Janet to have a decent sized part and no she wouldn't be a villain. They just don't have to promote that Janet is returning. Somethings are nice as surprises. The movie is two months away too they will eventually start their promoting and tv spots.

Alexis from remake wishes

Ha! Maybe for the sequel they could have new character Alexis van dyne, played by Joan Collins, to round out the family.

And instead of a huge superhero battle it’s a cat fight in a pool

I don't care if Janet is old or not. One, she's not THAT old, and two, considering old people incapable of being badass is kind of gross. Judi Dench as M and SW original trilogy trio come to mind. Can't state enough how little I want to see some random OC stealing Jan's screentime.

Very disappointing.

Scott is Ant-Man and Hope is The Wasp, I expect Janet's role to be like Leia's in the new Star Wars movies, and I imagine part of the reason she's not in the trailers is that she is bound to have been effected by her time trapped in the Quantum Realm and that will be a big reveal in the movie itself, not something to give away in the trailers.

I don't see how she can ever have a normal life again especially given all the time she has lost being in the Quantum Realm that would play with anyone's head with their psyche being locked away in that realm for decades

But usually if you don’t see a character a lot in the trailer, it’s due to the scenes they are in being spoiler material. Think Hawkeye in the first Avengers. So something tells me there is more to her than just being found in the quantum realm.

I hope Marvel is smart enough to realize they’ve done the evil parent/parental figure enough already.

Oh man... That looks so cool in gif form.

Wouldn't it be sad if [BLACKOUT]Scott and Hope bring Janet back only to have like Hank and Janet be among those "dusted" by Thanos? Now I a man thinking that's the A&W post credit scene. [/BLACKOUT]

I need to see Janet asap!

I reckon she will come out crazy but by the end we will find out she was sane the whole time and that she was put in the microverse on purpose

I'm sure even if she comes back crazy they will find a way to make her better by the end of the movie

Just throwing this out there but... They change things almost as much as they stay true to things in the comics in the MCU. What if Ghost has a connection to Hank and Janet in some way that's not adversarial?

Are you saying "Ghost" is Hank & Janet's daughter? They are WHITE she is BLACK so no family relations. Now Ghost is probably connected to Bill Foster possibly daughter & Ghost girl & Hope knew each other/were friends when they were children.

Janet sacrificed herself to stop the missle as we learned in the first movie via flashbacks, so she couldn't have been put in there on purpose. Hank didn't really move on with his life after she died/went missing so there was no wrong doing on his part.

That’s the story the way he told it. And people never lie.

Don't you think Hank and Hope have been through enough? Let's not make her a villain.

I definitely don’t want that. :csad:

Besides Janet and Hope have lost time to make up for as mother and daughter

Unreliable narrator! Folks were wondering if Hank would end up being a villain in the first Ant Man flick given his shaky comic history, and it wouldn't shock me if they story he told Hope about Janet's fate wasn't 100% true. His inability to move on could be partly due to guilt.

That would be ridiculous and cheapens the beautiful scene between Hope and Hank in the first movie - 'she made her choice'

"she made her choice" sounds a tad ominous when you think about it.
