Drama Damon Lindelof Developing The Leftovers at HBO

Just watched it since I was away last night.

Frigging loved it. I will be glued to my set next Sunday for sure.

By HBO standards, that's not too bad. More than what True Blood premiered to back in '08, and not too shy of GOT and True Detective's premieres. Would've definitely been bigger if they hadn't delayed it until two weeks after GOT, though.

Intriguing... The silent people pissed me off though, WTF is their problem?

They took Shaq?

Just finished the pilot. I was incredibly skeptical and basically about to turn it off until the lady said the thing about her dog and husband. Then I got hooked and now the show has me.

I actually love the concept of the GR. I find it realistic that there'd be a cult out there like them, after what happened.

It is realistic I guess... But seeing first hand how a cult can rip families apart... Not sure I'm too interestedin staying around if they drag that little plot arc out.

Theroux had me from the trailers but I just can't comprehend how a three-day beard makes him look completely different. I mean, I'd seen him in Parks & Rec & maybe one or two movies, but he just looks like a completely different person imo here.

Can't wait to see the next episode, I really think he's riveting in the pilot, intense as hell.

Also, Justin Theorux for Frank Castle/Punisher. :o

Yeah, I like the idea of the Guilty Remnant. Their sort of outlook makes sense in this world they're in. I'm more curious/unsure about the guy Garvey's son is working for.

youre remembering it all wrong man... :ninja:

I know, I know.

Anyways, I'm curious about the dog thing.

[blackout]wouldn't it drive humans insane too? literally seeing someone disappear right in front of you? Oh ****, maybe those could be the GR?[/blackout]

I enjoy a bit of misery porn tv shows. The pilot didn't really hook me and the characters and plot didn't really engage me but I will check out the next few episodes because I like Paterson Joseph and Christopher Eccleston.

Agreed. I'll give it another episode or two, but it's not really grabbing me yet.

I just watched this and I liked it. But yeah, I kind of hate the Remnant people. Part of me was hoping Theroux would just go on a killing spree at the end and wipe them all out, lol. The way they all chain smoke, they're going to die anyway, the f***ers.
