Incidentally, while Zimmer's work on TDKR was so-so, I did find Inception's soundtrack to be top-notch. If he gives us something new and refreshing for Superman, I wouldn't mind seeing him return for Justice League.

What Bane's Theme do you speak of? I can't find anything name-related to Bane on the soundtrack..?! Is it the Born in Darkness track you are referring to?

Oh, yes I did. Silvestri's work on The Avengers was lackluster. And for you to claim it trumps "I'm Not A Hero", "Harvey Two-Face", "Aggressive Expansion", "Like A Dog Chasing Cars" and "Why So Serious?" is preposterous. It's not even close. Those tracks complimented the scenes, and added to the drama.

I hate to say this, but it's my opinion. I thought Zimmer's score for BB was wonderfully diverse and exciting... but the sequel scores, not so much. Zimmer tended to re-use a lot of cues in TDK and TDKR... but I blame that on Nolan falling in love with the temp-track.

I loved the bombast and energy of Silvestri's score for The Avengers... I can't listen to the score without imagining the scenes it underscores. I don't think that approach would've worked with Nolan's films, but I think it would work with a JL film. The composer can certainly reference and quote Zimmer's themes for Batman and Superman (should those characters show up in the film), as well as JNH's GL theme.

Zimmer has done some amazing work, but the Batman scores aren't in the same league. The Thin Red Line, Sherlock Holmes, POTC 3 and The Da Vinci Code were wonderful. But it's time for a new sound for the DC superheroes.

Now that Zimmer has retired from superhero genre, who will replace him for JL ?

Well all I gotta say is FINALLY.

Nice, this poll originates from 2012. :P

As long as the next composer is able to take from previous soundtrack and not make Justice League soundtrack sound generic, I'm good.

I'm glad to move on from Zimmer.

I'm with Starman , sometimes a fresh energy is needed. he started doing too many of these superhero scores.

Michael Giacchino, John Newton Howard, Howard Shore, Bear McCreary are all people I'd like to see score JL.

First pick, though? I really love Howard Shore's music, but I think I want Bear McCreary to do it. I seem to like everything he puts out.

So, first choice: Bear McCreary.

I'd like to see Howard Shore do Wonder Woman, though.

EDIT: I for sure want Bear McCreary for JL. And if not JL, then a Batman solo film.

I don't see anything wrong with Hans Zimmer. I love his work.

Agreed, but Hans has been working on superhero films since Batman Begins.
I think it's time for someone with fresh eyes on this.

My pick is Howard Shore for JL and Wonder Woman. James Newton Howard for Aquaman and maybe Flash. Bring back Danny Elfman for Batman. I could see Michael Giacchino scoring Man of Steel II. I liked his work on Jupiter Ascending.

Nothing wrong with him. He's one of the best.

It's not about being "wrong" per se but too much of the same thnig and it becomes generic. He obviously feels the same way otherwise he wouldn't stop scoring the superhero movies.

Hans Zimmer has done so much Superhero Scores that are epic and serious and supposed to sound legendary, he is great but it has gotten a bit tired.
I would like to see the guy that did The First Avenger score or maybe Danny Elfman.

I think we'll see more scores from Junkie XL in future DCEU films. I'd wager he's the most likely candidate for scoring the solo Batman film, since he was selected for BvS specifically so he could come up with new themes for Batman rather than have Zimmer regurgitate his old work from the Nolan trilogy.

If by the same way you mean great, yeah, i agree.

Looking at the other super hero movies, i don't see anything better than what he has been doing. I mean, what recent cb movies have better soundtracks than TDK trilogy, MOS or BvS? Captain America? Iron Man? The Avengers? Ant-Man? Well, not to me.

You have plenty of "fresh eyes" in other cb movies. You can compare those soundtracks with Zimmer's and decide for yourself if that's the type of change you want, because that's most likely what you will get.
