Can they still use the music he composed for MOS and BvS in JL? I love MOS scores.

You have plenty of "fresh eyes" in other cb movies. You can compare those soundtracks with Zimmer's and decide for yourself if that's the type of change you want, because that's most likely what you will get.

For WB's CBM they need someone new, but still have memorable soundtrack.
SS and WW will tell if they can follow MoS and BvS soundtrack.

I don't want what other cbm have where there soundtrack is almost nonexistent and generic

That's what I hope they keep using the previous soundtrack from MoS and BvS.

I'm actually excited about someone new, Justice League's lighter tone is probably going to need something fresh. Although I would not be opposed to a return for Junkie XL.

Whoever it is though please bring back the Man of Steel theme in all its glory.

It's a WB score. They can use any piece of music they want, just as long as Zimmer is credited with it.

Yeah, I'm expecting to hear parts of Terraforming, Flight, and What Are You Going To Do When You're Not Saving The World? peppered throughout Justice League score as far as Superman is concerned.

But that's why they keep using Hans Zimmer. Because he is one of the very few who appears to be able to create super hero soundtracks that are not "nonexistent" and "generic". The other studios who aren't using Zimmer aren't producing the same type music quality. Zimmer is a safe bet. You hire another composer and you might risk ending up with one of those soundtracks that you forget as soon as you leave the theater.

I can't choose a composer, I just hope it's a guy, who really wants to do it and feels like he can actually create something special. Since Zimmer is gone, it's a nice opportunity to try something else.

Junkie XL is the only choice. He can continue Zimmer's work while he's on hiatus or whatever he decides. Junkie was part of the MOS soundtrack too though Hans is credited as the composer. If anyone can carry the baton it's Junkie.

Yes. I'm ok with someone new as long as they bring back the MOS theme, the Bruce Wayne theme, and the Wonder Woman theme (I also hope we hear a slower version of her theme in WW).

You know Christoher Drake whose done a lot of the DC Animated Projects (maybe even them all I'm not sure) would be an inspired choice. His work on films such as All Star Superman and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns was amazing.

Christopher Drake is definitely my top choice

Wouldn't mind Junkie XL coming back either

I'd be over the moon if WB got Shore involved, wouldn't mind if XL returned either.

As long as I still get a version of "What Are You Going To Do..." for Superman's return, I don't care who does it.

I think Junkie XL should be the one. Who knows? maybe he will. :p

WB owns the scores for MOS and BvS, ownership and usage is not a problem. I'm pretty sure whoever takes over scoring duties will quote and/or incorporate Zimmer's motifs into the score, either through studio mandate or because Snyder wants it.

I'm hoping for a composer who's willing to take Zimmer's material and expand upon it. Anyone who's heard Danny Elfman's work on Avengers: Age of Ultron will know what I'm talking about.

You know I had never considered him but he really would be. Didn't realize he did Public Enemies and JL: Doom too. He definitely "gets" the characters.

Williams.

Time to put some real magic back into the game.

I think he is occupied BUT i am TOTALLY game for that.
Imagine Superman in a combined version of classic and MOS theme, or just his classic one :hmr:

What I can imagine is Superman rising up from the earth as What Are You Going to Do When You Are Not Saving the World just seamlessly segues into the classic and triumphant Superman march. It forms such a beautiful image in my mind.

If by "real magic", you mean the camp of Williams' Superman '78 theme, then I'm definitely not interested in that.

There's lot of camp elements in the '78 film...

But that theme is most certainly not one of them.
